Greatest dance track of all time?

I'm getting on a bit, so these are the best part of 20 years old

Mix Factory - Take Me Away
Bizarre Inc - Playing with knives
LFO - LFO

I voted for LTJ Bukem - Return to Atlantis (although I remeber it as Apollo II - Atlantis/I Need You)

No, no... no no, no no... no no limit! But yeah... no...

See if you bust out 2Unlimited you have to bust out Capella, Dune, Reel 2 Reel, Snap!, Culture Beat, No Mercy, Real McCoy, La Bouche, Haddaway, DJ Bobo, Scooter etc etc...

They're all much of a muchness really. Great fun and undeniably a part of dance/club history but hardly timeless :D

Did force me into a bit of a nostalgia trip though :D

I'll just leave these here... Not classic eurodance but it followed on from their greatness :D

Actually I'm surprised that this one hasn't come up yet. It was one of the biggest tracks out there for quite a long time especially after Matt Darey and PVD did their magic with it. One of the biggest breakdowns ever IMO.

Right up there with Greece 2000, Energy 52, For an Angel, Gouryella etc.

Edit: Actually speaking of Gouryella - I've had the roof go off many a time dropping the Gouryella remix of the same tune.

I'd have to say (unless I'm right out of touch of trance music these days) but the late 90's/early 2000's were the best for uplifting trance, back when MOS put out awesome mixes like ATBs Clubbers Guide to Trance, Gatecrasher Wet, Slinky etc. Where has all the great music gone... bah humbug.

I may also blame these tunes for some massive hands in the air moments:

MASSIVE Breakdown in this one too

Yeah same again here

Hmmm I'm going to have to go bust out the ol' 1200's and my vinyl again I think. Damn you OP!

The PvD remix of 1998 is the track that single-handedly got me in to trance, and still sits as my second favourite track of all time.

There is still good trance out there, just trickier to find. (or you can just search for my trance mixes, I have impeccable taste yo!)

I met barthezz years ago near Rotterdamn as my mate was plying on a radio station and a club over there - got us free tickets / hotel sorted which was pretty mint !

We should share our sets...

So many great and influential tracks over the years for various different reasons it would be very hard to pick one and label it the greatest ever. I just hope whatever track gets the title actually deserves it.

For me personally my vote would be for Brainbug - Nightmare (Sinister Strings Mix) :)

Seen a few people mention Tiesto's - Adagio for Strings, find that surprising saying William Orbit - Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Mix) is clearly a better version imo.

nothing to do with age, just it's not a dance track and definitely not one that deserves to be in the list even if it was tbh. And that's from someone who was a big happy hardcore fan and met slipmatt a few times.

Whether it deserves to be on the list is purely subjective, but it is most definitely a dance track because otherwise what the hell happened in 92 that made everyone dance  (apart from the obvious of course) :D

hint - some absolutely stomping tunes!
