Yeah, lost number 1 to injury in the Euros and 2 to Long covid, not sure what happened to the other, maybe another soft tissue injury (we have plenty under Bruce)

Running at 4 defenders from a standstill is 10x harder than running into space or at defenders at pace. The quick one touch passing released Shaw to drive at Newcastles midfield and defence. Up until then we have been lazily stroking the ball around with no purpose and then hoping someone will break through 10 Newcastle players. Ronaldos first was only as a result of a lucky deflection gifting him a tap in. Without the deflection the shot would have been an easy save for the keeper.

We've generally been exactly the same as we were last season. Poor on the ball. Reliant on individual moments rather than team coherence and movement.
