Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11th - 14th Sep 2020]

Just the 8 goals last season. His PL record is 5, 6, 8, 14 & 8 goals. I think his reputation has got a bit hyped up from the 18/19 season when he was a bargain fantasy football pick.

2-0 game over, lovely strike from Hendrick.

I forgot they signed him on a free, solid piece of business for Newcastle.

I said Wilson would be a flop at Newcastle but many others I’ve spoken to and most pundits seem to think the opposite. He’s got the first hurdle out of the way but I just don’t see him scoring 15+.

Based on this performance they will struggle, they've offered basically nothing.

They don't exactly have an easy run of fixtures for the start of the season as well!

Next 6: Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester, Spurs, City, Liverpool

The only saving grace for Moyes is the fact games are being played behind closed doors. West Ham fans got rid of him first time round and they won't be hiding their feelings about him if results don't improve.

I think he'll do ok but I think his reputation is probably better than the reality. The way Hasselbaink was talking about him pre-game you wouldn't have known he was only a 1 in 3 striker.

He only needs 7 to beat our top scorer for last season.

he's better than what we've had the past few years with the exception of Rondon

I think Wilson will do quite well, he offers something different to an Andy Carroll so at the least he gives a different approach.

He will outscore Joelinton anyway :p

I'm still at a loss as to why we have Joelinton the number 9 - I don;t mind if he becomes an inside forward who helps close games out

Absolutely nailed on Moyes will have a completely different view of the game than any other person who watched it.

Moyes Bingo.

"Didn't take our chances."

"Premier League is a tough league."

"No easy games."

"Apart from the two goals, I don't think they had many other chances."

I remember last season when we beat them and had a var decision go our way, and he claimed that the ref and linesman were top officials and he didn’t see the need to go var!

I think the fact they were completely wrong proved it to be the correct course of action :D

I think people are being harsh on Moyes. West Ham are a mess and it wasnt his doing. They are utter garbage and have been mis managed higher up.

He is a poor manager, negative and always looking for excuses. He has dined out far too long on doing OK at Everton.

Why does bielsa refuse to sit on a seat and instead sits on a bucket?
Better angle - the bench is recessed so it's harder to see what's going on than from the bucket. Don't forget this is the guy who once cllimbed up a tree in a training session to see if it gave a better perspective.

I occasionally used to borrow someone's season ticket for lower tier row 1 (different ground but same principle) and I'll be honest apart from being in the thick of the action it wasn't great, you are below pitch height, combined with my crap eyesight a lot of the time it was different to see if shots were going on target etc.

Leeds done well and caused us some problems but we still massively dominated the game. 25 attempts to their 7 (22-6 on target), with our xg at 3.15 to their 0.27. Leeds were just very clinical with the few chances they had.
Yeah I saw this too. Leeds worked very hard and pressed constantly, but they also scored a load of goals that were unlikely to have gone in under other circumstances.

The score line flatters them is what im saying. I thought they played ok but they werent as good as people are making out.

Leeds? They definitely were not good. They gave the ball away stupidly way too much with no pressure yet still managed 4-3. Without their CB pairing from last season too. Take away the 2 Leeds mistakes for Penalties and what are you left with?

51-49% in possession too and that's low for Leeds.

Leeds will shock some teams this season.
