Yes any foul that is due to taking the last man/denial of goal scoring is rescinded if the player was offside. I think violent conduct remains though.

Well considering we only have one side of the picture, very from our point of view. Don't you remember in the WC when there was the hoo haa about the ball going over the back line against Spain I think it was. Haaland was blocking our view from this side but the defender could have been level with a body part from the other side.

Lucky the contact was fairly minimal for for a studs high out of control challenge there.
Violent conduct and serious foul play (which includes the Pickford challenge on VVD that Fez mentioned) are still reds regardless of whether there was an offside or foul in the build-up to the incident.

Give over McCoist, the Arsenal players did exactly the same thing when the penalty was given. That was also quite a nasty one.

Has that been changed since the VVD incident or was it just a classic case of making a massive balls up on the part of the ref.
