Yea, I've seen those conspiracy rumours doing the rounds but I'm sure they're total nonsense. And if there was anything in it, I'm sure it would more likely be him wanting to score himself rather than not wanting Salah to.
Some players go into those situations looking for penalties, some players don't and Mane doesn't.

Another game we should have got something from but for **** decision making in the final 3rd. Hope Patricio is OK, can't be doing with Ruddy in goal.

You disagree he's one of the best midfielders in the world? He absolutely is. Since arriving at Man Utd he's single handedly carried the club on his back, whatever the stats say. I've watched it every week.

He's created the most chances out of the top 5 leagues in Europe this season. But he's definitely not one of the best midfielders in the world.
I think he loses the ball a hell of a lot and can go missing in big games ai.

Hes gotten worse over the past 3-4 months because I think he needs a break. Hes been carrying the team for over a year now and has barely had any time off. Any game Ole has tried to rest him in has resulted in a **** performance and him having to play anyway to try and salvage something.
Hes fine in big games, teams have just realised that so much of our creativity goes through him that they target him because we don't have many other danger men to worry about. Thats why City are so good at the moment. You can keep one or two of their star players at bay but you still have to worry about 5-6 more.

Pretty much this Fernandes hasn't got worse. Teams just marking him out of the game. When both him and Pogba plays it is much better. Hope he is back after the int break.

I think Fernandes is in the "I don't know that I am tired" phase of being overworked. Hes still charging around the pitch all game but his sharpness has dropped off and hes lost a little pace. I think once he has had a few weeks off he will come back a much better player again. Like you say though, as much as Pogba does my head in, he is vital to overcoming teams that target Fernandes.

We've had this 'doesn't perform in big games' tag thrown at us since Ronaldo. People don't seem to understand that players will generally contribute less against high quality opposition...because they're better.

Its also largely dependent on the overall quality of your team. If you only have a couple of top quality danger men then a good, well setup opponent will stifle those players. I guess the other argument is that truly top class players always shine because they are simply better than other players no matter who the opposition.

Danny Ings has scored as many of more goals against the big 6 than, Auba, Vardy and Mane.
