I'm not sure if that's true. He currently loses the ball 3.5 times per match. That's more than our midfielders (Jones for instance is 2.6), but far less than Salah (5.6) or Mane (4.7). Generally, it makes sense for a player a bit further back to lose the ball less, so I don't think moving Firmino backwards would lead to much more risk in possession than playing with Jones for example
