Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 17th March 2022]

Sounds like there might be no Salah for the Arsenal game, he missed training today. Hopefully thats just precautionary but if not then Mane, Jota and Diaz are going to have to do the job for the game in hand

I hope Salah is fit ofcourse but he has been off it for a month. That front three are more then capable.

Well played palace, doesn't really change anything in the grand scheme of things tho, we win all our games and we're champs - still amusing to see man city lose.

Makes a small change, as it stood prior to City dropping points, if we won all our remaining games and City won all their remaining games (minus the loss to us), then City and Liverpool would have ended on the same point total (96 points each) and it would have come down to goal difference, if City had outscored us in their games they could have won that goal difference. Meaning we could have won all our remaining games and still not won the title

City dropping points tonight though, now means that if we win all our remaining games and city win all their remaining games (minus the loss to us), then we end up 2pts ahead of them (96 to 94 pts)

Winning the league was already somewhat under our control though. Ahead on goal difference and if we won all of our games we would almost 100% lift the trophy. I guess in theory city could win a few games 7-0 and Livepool could scrape a bunch of 1-0's etc so city could close the goal difference and offset losing to Liverpool but unlikely.

Citys slip up doesnt mean much. Right now the Liverpool city game is what its coming down to. Its almost even footing now, a draw in that big game can still see city win the league even if liverpool win every other game.

If either side can take the 3 points on the 10th of April that will probably be that. Unless theres some more uncharacteristic slipups.

What's crazy is that the Premier leagues biggest game of the season is going to be sandwiched by CL games aswell. Liverpool & city could draw each other and end up playing 3 times in 7 days. Would be nuts that the success of a full year could be measured on performance over 7 days.

Such a weird predicament to be in. As a United fan I would want Liverpool to beat Arsenal to help our top 4 hopes. Winning the league for them and preventing Pep from winning anything would be funny for his ego. On the flip side if the pool won the quad we would never be able to live it down :(.

Still a lot of prem games to play, with big cl games in between. Plenty of scope for both teams to drop points. I personally don't fancy us to take three points at the Emirates. My money is on a draw there.

Horrible situation to be in.

Watched the highlights of the City/Palace game and City should have scored at least 3. Just one of those games.

Just seen that L'pool/City could play four times in a row over 11 days, depending on cup draws.
Getting ready for Utd v Atletico by watching the first leg again. Wide open i reckon.

I didn't get around to watching the match last night but I've just seen the Maguire/Ronaldo headbutt :D I've never known a footballer as unintentionally funny as Maguire in my life. Rarely does a game go by where he doesn't do something that makes me laugh.
