I don't think so - we were awful before the cup tournaments started.

Trent's shift in role (to be clear, he's still at RB but is drifting much more infield when we have the ball) has:
1. Dropped Robbo a bit deeper when we don't have the ball, pushing our CBs infield making it harder to play over us. Konate makes the occasional mistake in the role but he's rapid and covers well

2. Given us a genuine double pivot when we lose the ball making it harder to play through our midfield

3. Improved our ball retention both through Trent's passing but as importantly through an extra body in midfield

4. Improved our press, as we're playing shorter passes through midfield and are therefore closer to the ball when it breaks down

5. Allowed our third midfielder (currently Jones) to play a much more advanced role, improving the press and linking the midfield and attack

Gakpo finding his feet has also made an absolutely massive difference, as has Jota's return from injury. His work rate and intelligence is hugely important even when he's not scoring.

He's got the natural ability to be better - he's quicker, stronger, and can play more directly. Whether he'll get to Bobby's level we'll have to wait and see, but he's an absolutely brilliant signing
 
No complaints about that performance, can only beat what’s in front of you and we did it soundly tonight.

Really hope we target a RB in the summer so Trent can be fully freed up to stay in midfield.

Leicester are gone, players just can't be bothered as half of them will be off. Probably easier to get a move too from the Championship. Newcastle will hammer them which is a pain for Liverpool.

Still a worry for Forest I think, they need a point at least as I can see Leeds beating Spurs on the final day. Everton will be safe. Between Forest and Leeds for final spot
