Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 18th May 2023]

If Villa beat Spurs to Europe I can see Spurs ending up languishing mid table for the foreseeable. Villa got $$$ too.

Didn't think I could dislike them more after the Brighton game, but the way they played and behaved today just made me angry.

Kane was pathetic. Whining to the ref after every decision even though they where getting the lions share of bad calls. Don't get me started on his penalty. Throws his knees that hard into Martinez thst I'm suprised he didn't crack a few ribs. Pretty certain he was offside as well but because it's Kane, why check?

Not often I get riled at a team. Like to think I'm fairly level headed towards the opposition but Spurs deserved nothing today and certainly don't deserve a look at Europe this season.

I'd like villa to get it of course but all credit to Brighton they've had a more consistent season and probably deserve it more. If it comes down to the wire and Spurs end up taking it then it's a disgrace. That poor decision making from officials a few weeks ago could cost Brighton not only Europe but a massive financial leg up going forward. I'd be furious.

Dunno about the glue but you definitely notice him more when he’s not playing. Missing his energy for sure. Felt we lost some shape when Maxi then Gordon came on. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see a player in Gordon, not yet anyway. Decent point on the road, either team could have won it.

That dafty that shoved Howe has been banned for life. Don’t know what he was thinking, of all the people to be angry with I don’t know why he would target Howe.
The balance is all wrong.

The work Joelinton puts in down the left and helps Burn out with the hybrid swaping he’s does with Jo. That’s missing. Jolinton powerful runs into the box is also missing when he has to play deeper.

The back 4 are also a little bit more exposed without Longstaff.

Also think Longstaff stats for line breaking passes is pretty dam high.

He just can’t shoot or finish which is strange as that was one of his strengths under Raffa.

No Toney for us today. Rumours are he's out for the season...

I wouldn't hold out any hope of Brentford stopping Man City on the final day, but I suspect it won't matter by threat l that point.

Only thing you can say for Evertons hopes is they've got 2 teams who will have probably mentally checked out for their last 2 games. Win 4 points off them and I think they'll probably survive.

Leeds with WH and Spurs have 2 winnable games also. Leicester with Liverpool and Newcastle next 2 games look in real trouble.

Again. Congrats to city for winning the title again
The most depressing thing for the chasing pack is that even when the rivals have a blindingly good season, as Liverpool did a couple of times and Arsenal have this season, City still overtake them. Its like playing snooker, doing some phenomenally high break by playing out of your skin and then your opponent walks up and casually knocks in 7 100+ breaks and wins the match
