What is even the point in this rigged sport where one team can spend 850k a week on one players wages whilst some other teams in the same division spend barely more than that for their entire first 11 each week ?

Entire sport needs to die a horrible painful death.

Pickford getting away with gbh :cry:

Tierney and Jorginho starting for us, bench indicates we're down to one senior backup defender remaining. Brighton pretty much full strength so should be a good game.

Imagine reading a rivals forum when they aren’t even in the same league as you. Talk about obsessed :cry: were you one of those lot who used to attend Sunderland games before you trotted off to Oz?

I can almost guarantee that the general consensus on that forum isn’t that they’d beat you either. It’ll be some WUM with a bait post or some deluded fan (which every team has). Your lot certainly aren’t short of them even going off the small sample size we have on here.

Nobody will care about the derby against Bonesaw United anymore either, it’ll never match the days of the 6 in a row.

Can add Arsenal 2022-23 to that

Sometimes you cant shake the feeling that a Man City playing at 80% can win the title but for anyone else they have to be at 150% for the entire season just to maybe beat City to the title. I mean lets face it, does anyone truly think that anybody other than City will win the title next year too?
 
Looking forward to the Arsenal vs Brighton game, glad to see Ferguson is back.

Hopefully the Everton result was a kick up the arse for us and we learnt from it, if both teams play well it'll be a cracker of a match.

I'm not a fan of one team winning the league in a dominating fashion year on year. Even when its my own team. Whats it this year, 5 titles in 6 years, if they do it again next year (and lets face it if you had to put £100 on a team to win the league next year , if you're honest, you would stick it on Man City - thats how likely it is) , that would make it 6 times in 7 years. The very sort of title dominance that we belittle other leagues for. Whether such a thing happening is a positive for the league or a negative I leave the reader to decide, certainly though I am increasingly finding the bottom of the league more interesting than the top in recent times.

Entire structure of football would need to change though to have a draft system, better to just force a wage cap globally. So you can have your 850k a week superstar but that means the rest of your squad have to be literal bums from non league football earning £1000 a week:p

FFP is the main reason the sport is rigged, its designed to keep the elite at the top. It massively benefits the clubs who already have large global fanbases and who get champs league regularly.

The better you do the more money you bring in and can then spend… so the best teams keep getting richer relative to the rest of the league.

There'll always be someone high up FIFA, UEFA, The Premier League or whatever organisation you care to name that'll happily turn a blind eye for a bit of cash. If City get away with it, you can be damn sure a lot of people will have made money out of it.
