Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 19th January 2023]

Weghorst thoughts? I think he did what ETH asked of him. Fairly decent game for him, hard to come to Palace, Held the ball up well a few times and laid it off, some good passes and runs, espcially for the goal taking tow defenders away from Bruno. Got a good feeling he will certainly contribute to an over all team win on many occasions.

I think he did fine, he's very mobile, good at linking the play and pressing, some nice touches. That's all we need a lot of the time. Should get a few goals too.

Hmmmm. I was hopeful and as plan B it's ok but he looks a bit Crouchy/Fellaini for my liking. He'll be a threat in the air that we don't have. Decent enough debut but if we are honest he's not the type of player we should be signing if we have title ambitions.

He's nothing like them, he's just tall. I thought his build up play was very good tonight, mostly with his feet

Weren't you writing him and the transfer policy off before he had kicked a ball for you? Or am I thinking of someone else?
I think he's absolutely class personally. Has fitted into the league perfectly.

Hindsight is bliss but remember De Jong was rambling on for ages who was our primary target. 60+ million for a 30 year old pointed all at a panic buy especially as it was a very late transfer.

Him and Eriksen have transformed us really and considering Eriksen was a free it takes off some of the sting of Casemiro's fee.

Both are 30 but both rely on their intelligence rather than outright pace so hopefully we can get 3-4 seasons out of them.
