Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 16th October 2022]

Liverpool have released a statement about the Manchester City fans vile chants during todays game

Away end also vandalised with graffiti of a similar nature.

About time something was done about this.

Minor noise made about it, barely anything in media and no punishment.
Every fan base has their bad eggs rolled out /what about Liverpool fans doing x
Repeat again next time specific teams play Liverpool

don’t understand Peps complaints to the foul that led to the goal being disallowed.

The ref played on, you can’t just play on through a foul LMAO
I mean theres three issues so he can pick which one he wants. It was a corner...Fabinho is clearly fouled as is Alisson when Haalands kicks it out of his hands.

Pick one Pep lol.

Refs might be crap but this shouldn't really happen. More punishment coming?

Maybe the process for referee performance review shouldn't be such a joke as they continue to influence the outcome of games for all teams. Those scenes from Klopp aren't common, those performances from Anthony Taylor let alone his supporting cast are.
Managers and players will continue to shout at them when they make clearly incorrect calls which at a certain point seem beyond a mistake

Also, VAR not taking a look at Bernardo taking two steps back as play moves forward to swing a leg and an elbow at Salah :D?

Its been said on MOTD Var would have disallowed it for the foul on Alisson too.

So between that missed foul, the missed foul on Fabs and the missed corner which all led to the goal I reckon the officials did well :D 3 things missed in the space of a few moments of play and this set of officials are the supposed to be the best the PL can offer.
They are just useless and its just mistake after mistake over most of the games every week.

Maybe they were impressed with the quality of the wrestling move hah.

VAR aside how did yous not put 3-5 past them. They weren't at the races at all yesterday and some of your players put in an excellent shift.

just watched a lot of clips from the Utd - Newcastle game, that officiating is some of the worst i've seen.

The Ronaldo goal is a hard one, from one angle you see the ref running back with his hand up, another angle the whistle goes and he kicks the ball........

The Varane on Wilson is a stone waller.

So what are the people saying 'Man City are going to get 100+ points and go unbeaten' saying now?

City are not going to blow everyone away to this title. Yes they will get 12 against Everton and Forest but that's still only 3 points and they will drop plenty in closer matches. Liverpool are very much back in it after this. Arsenal look less likely to drop points than City. I certainly don't think City can win the CL meeting an English club.

Arteta really needs to prioritise the league now. They all have winnable games coming up to the world cup and could be in a very strong position. Play the kids in the cups and Europa League but concentrate on the league. I can see Arsenal doing a Leicester City.

What were the odds of Arsenal winning the league going into this season?

Not that high, they were 5th last year, its nothing like what Leicester did.

IMO, City are still going to walk away with the title, not unbeaten and not with 100+ points but I firmly expect Arsenal to drop away and one good result does not a Liverpool challenge make, I think Liverpool will continue to flip flop between 3pts and 1pt and not give City a run in the league. I still think City will have the title wrapped up in good time before the seasons end and can see them winning the league by double digits over the team in 2nd place. I dont think yesterdays result has changed City's destiny in terms of winning the league this year.
