Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 28th April 2022]

No, the point of VAR is to overturn clearly wrong decisions which it wasn't. At best it's a marginal decision which VAR won't involve itself in.
It was a clearly wrong decision, Sorry like I’m not having that it was a marginal decision. it was a clear penalty and you would be saying the same thing if one like that wasn’t given for you, it wasn’t given because Gordon was going down quicker than Jordan’s knickers during the whole match and that effected the referees decision, and this isn’t me with my “apparent anti Liverpool” head on as I wanted you to win yesterday, I’m still sour about Everton rolling over for Sunderland 7 years ago to send us down.
These things seem not to get fully looked at when it’s for teams at the bottom.

TBH I thought the ref has a very poor game yesterday anyway 3 players could easily have had a red card if another ref was in charge, and the time wasting was shocking from the 12th minute onwards that he should have got on top of after 40 mins

Have you looked at the twitter post i put on my post?

This is the problem with some Liverpool fans, when things go against you with decisions that you should have got, the world and the League is against you, but when you get the rub of the green with a decision that goes for you when it shouldn’t, some of you will never admit “boy we got away with one there”

They both make contact with each other. I more annoyed he was even on the pitch to be honest what with his 4 dives in the first half, ofcourse theres no outrage there. Nor is there when Richarlison has kicked out at Henderson or Allan on Keita.

Like I've said, Lampard has done a great job of deflecting here. Everton deserved nothing and frankly they should be embarrassed.

Yeah, full of one sided views from Liverpool fans. On another day that may have been a penalty.

They are both all over each other and Gordon drops like hes dropped all season.

Are you not at all embarrassed about all this?

What are you talking about. We had many decisions not go for us yesterday...Ive watched it back, are you honestly telling me that first half is what you want to see? 20 minutes of time wasting in a single half, a goalie dropping to the floor pulling a face to the bench as he's time wasting, Richarlison crying it in ever few minutes delaying and breaking up the game. Then the red cards ive already mentioned.

Its purely a distraction tactic by Lampard because they were awful.

You have to be joking here. We've had half the league crying weekly about the so called "big six".

Of course I am, but this happens across the league. You make it sound like it only happens at Everton. Salah regularly falls over in the box, but you don't see me banging on about it. :)

Salah rarely wins fouls never mind penalties.

Lampard really isnt helping though is he. Did he really need to make the Salah comparison? Its fuels a narrative that's just nonsense and just makes your fans go wild.

I mentioned the time wasting and that the ref should have stomped all over it, and I also mentioned in another post that Gordon was going down quicker than Jordan’s knickers which is probably why the ref didn’t give it, I think if it was gray in that position yesterday the ref would have given it

Not in the opinion of those that matter, including an ex ref who has commented on the situation.

He stepped into Matip to create the contact and that's why the pen wasn't given.

What about the image above Baz? Matip is clearly standing on his foot. :)

Frank out Big Sam in?

You arent changing manager and I do know that yea, we both thought it was a bit mad lol.

Fat Sam!! No way! :D

The ex ref said he initially though penalty when he was watching then changed his mind once he saw the replay, a replay he wouldn’t have seen if he was on the pitch and there is no way the VAR sends him to the monitor after he’s given it.

So he thought it was the correct decision then.

And the ex ref I was referring to was Clattenburg, who said the ref was spot on. Clatts has a great record of making big decisions in the Merseyside derby too, just ask any Evertonian :p

See this is the problem with some Liverpool fans, worlds against them when the decisions don’t go their way and everything is how it should be, when they get away with ones that should go against them.
Given the hysterical comments you came out with on here regarding Newcastles takeover this is quite funny.

:/

But this happens all the time and penalities are given. :D
This is true. It certainly wouldn't have shocked me had it been given but Gordon is 100% playing for the penalty and instigated the contact. Hopefully officials are becoming more aware of these situations and we will stop seeing pens given for them.
