Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th April 2023]

Regardless of whether arsenal win league arteta is and had shown improvements each season. Fans should be happy considering what came before. I reckon will get over line if stay on same path and have title in next few years problem is city spending etc won't stop

That is what Spurs fans thought when they missed the title. You had 50 points at the mid point. No one has lost the league from that position. Chelsea will not be as bad as they were this season, Newcastle will spend big, Liverpool will jump back. Then you still have to fight City. That is not even considering where Man U will be if they manage to get rid of Glazers. League is becoming more and more difficult each passing year. You can even put Villa into that equation. You might laugh but in a few years time I think the FA will be handing out 4th place trophies just so teams get something!

Arsenal are only missing Saliba. You cannot expect that drop off with one player gone. City are playing on three fronts as well. Arsenal have had a week to prepare. I don't watch the other teams but what I have seen when we faced Arsenal and when we faced City it was a much harder game against Arsenal so god knows what has happened since then.

Jesus...you Arsenal lot turn on your team fairly quickly

If you woke up from a season long coma as a fan and were told the team pushed City till the run-in, looked outstanding at times, got a (possible) record points haul then finished strongly in a CL place you’d be thrilled and gutted you missed it… till you talked to people who had to experience it.

It’s just hard to appreciate it when you’ve lead for so long then run out of gas and quality in the final furlong but hey, it’s better than the apathy and disinterest not that long ago.

Getting to Champions league final in 09,11, losing both and losing the league in 12 whilst being 8 points clear. That was soul destroying.

Saying that I would rather have that pain then being in the wilderness for the past ten years.
