If I was a player coming to them I would want a clause in my contract gaining a free transfer if relegated. It is not like when City started splashing the cash as they were already a mid table team.

A move to Newcastle is a massive risk if it all goes pear shaped.

Norwich City got a few good loans from top teams and look how well it has done them.

If I was the club I would put a clause in the contract allowing the player to stay in the PL on loan while we’re in the championship and then either return to the club if we come back up or are sold if not, shouldn’t have much trouble attracting them if they are guaranteed to stay in the PL
