Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 28th December 2022]

He's clearly getting better in respect of fitting into City's system, and is affecting games now which he was unable to do last season.

He's doing a completely different job in the City team to what he was being asked to do to Villa. He can't just hold the ball for City, whereas that was his whole game at Villa. Now he's required to move the ball fast, and go past people at the right moments.
He might "fit" into the system, but he has no end product. The end product part is not about the system, his passes gets blocked, he can't beat anyone, he just falls over and his shoots wide. The 2 sitters he missed near the end of the 1st half is nothing to do with the system.

I am just going to say it, right now he is just crap. Absolute turd of a player right now.

(he is going to score now in the 2nd half)

None of this has anything to do with the system though.

But all the things he's not doing now are things we know he is capable of, so it's a confidence thing at the moment. He's improved at the things he's never been very good at - his movement, positioning, moving the ball fast etc. When he gets a goal or two I think it'll come flooding back.

Players don't become bad overnight. They get worse through form/confidence, age, or a change of system. Grealish is currently failing to do things that he could have done in his sleep two years ago. Other aspects of his game, relating to the change in system, have improved. Therefore "all" he has to do is regain some form and he'll be a better player than he has been before.

They "might" come back but right now, he is crap. I am not taking about what might come, just commenting on what has happened since and what he is today.

Just crap. There is no other way to say it. He is having a stinker tonight, he has not been on form either for the past season either.

Even Shearer just mentioned it just now, the goal came because KDB drive forward from the left hand side, he ran at the defence, Grealish doesn't actually do that, he would make a short pass or slows right down and get himself tackled.

I'd love to see him to be really good, i think he is a very talented player but he has zero end product currently.

Ok, so what point are you making? You're either saying he's crap in general, and that City shouldn't have signed him, or that he's out of form. If the former, it's a big statement and I've said why I disagree. If the latter, then the best way to get him to find some form is to play him in the matches you're likely to win anyway, even if he's only half cooked.

I am saying since his move he has been crap and does not justify his price tag. I thought he would have got better from being trained by Pep but his end product has been awful.

(and as i say that he assists)
