Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th April - 4th May 2023]

In your opinion, are you genuinely saying you feel that was a penalty if it was given the other way
How many times can you argue that though? I'd say it was soft and id say the defender was an idiot but its a foul.

Why is this even a conversation? Oh because its Liverpool and for some bizarre reason people are just obsessed with scrutinising every decision that goes for them conveniently ignoring those that dont.

It seems the ref and var thought it was a penalty, if it wasn't then it would have been overruled.
to be fair that’s not a good back up atm hah.

One of them ones defender swung the leg and pulled it back but big Andy was already diving into it.

Soft

That was a soft as hell penalty not sure how anyone can say it isn't. Nature of the game now though. Sometimes that will be given and sometimes it won't.

I think Haaland will end up like the real Ronaldo with that frame. I will be amazed if he hits the 2nd half of his 20's that he's not injured half the time or considerably slower. If he avoids injuries they really need to start cloning him, minus the face.

He's got far more medical science behind him to keep him going these days, and he seems to live properly.

I mean weren't half of Arsenal's invincibles smokers and drinkers? That wasn't so long ago.

I think even at worst, Haaland turns into Lukaku, but with better finishing. So it can't be that bad.

And the next 5 - 8 years will be his prime, as opposed to the old days when people say 27yrs old when a player is at their best. It's different for different players and those with speed, i think their prime is early in their career. He could also adapt his game, less playing on the shoulder of the last defender and more as a poacher, he does have a knack to do that.

and that is the stupidity with VAR
What's your solution? Fouls in football are subjective.

It's a soft penalty, but Nunez basically has to throw himself out of the way of a wildly flailing leg. His other option is to keep running straight, get kicked, and win the penalty but risk injury. I'm not sure why he should be disadvantaged for taking evasive action to avoid getting kicked.

People are just wishing Haaland would drop off like a cliff. Haaland has scored more goals in all comps than the whole of Manchester has in the league!

If City win the Champions league this time around there is nothing really stopping them doing it again a bit like Ajax in the 70's. They are just so good now. Haaland is that icing on the cake that only comes around once a decade. I liken it to when we got Cantona, RVN or Ronaldo in his prime. The feeling a team gets when you have a player like that is God mode really. You have won the game before you have already entered the pitch.

Our only real hope is that the FA ban them for cheating which would be justified if proven as Haaland would never be on their books if their revenue was legit.

To think some pundits were giving it the big one a few months back saying City were worse with Haaland.

Big game for us tonight, got to get our revenge!

Hopefully the form against Wolves continues, alongside United’s poor away form!

If you look at Haaland, his looks and the way he moves, he barely looks human. I’m sure he’s some kind of experiment in a bioengineering project to make the perfect athlete.
