Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd-4th Oct 2020]

Not really, he dived in front of Lucas and Lucas went over him. If he'd gone through his legs then I agree
He didn't dive in front of him:

He knows he's not catching him so just takes a swipe at his legs. You can foul somebody without using excessive force, which is one of the criteria's for a red card. Shaw used excessive force. He could have easily seen red for it.

If you can find it, search for Rooney's red card for the exact same challenge on Downing years ago.

Don't forget Leicester won the league with maguire and semi decent defenders.

Its called being well drilled and organised. Utd need wholesale changes in the coaching staff from front to back.
It was also a weaker league but yes, I completely agree. You need to set up a team to compete and this United team simply doesn't. If their strikers don't dig them out they lose

I just expect stuff like this nowadays.

Woeful club leadership, conference level manager, dodgy set of players.

Meh.

Hmm maybe...I can see why that could be a red for violent conduct / tackle from behind. It's borderline for me

My main point is that I don't think cynisim can be a reason for a red unless it's last man, but I take your point that this one is arguably violent conduct

I don't know whats happened to United fans but no matter what issues we have, quite a lot of us seem to think that transfers are 99% of running a successful club. Like you could put a Llama in charge of a good side and that would work out quite well.

On todays performance:

Effort from players 2/10
Game plan and tactics: 2/10
Coaching on display: 1/10

Some would say that all three of the above are managerial and staffing issues but no, we just need to buy more players. More players will make the team put in the effort. More players will lead to a well coached and tactically brilliant team. More players will magically create a cohesive set of players with a shared tactical awareness.

Also WTF is Ole doing after the game.

Finally a wake up call for Ole and co?

someone said he could be gone by Christmas, I fear that may be true if this run continues for the next few games
