Thats quite the schedule. We have Roma, Villa, Leicester and Liverpool in 8 days.
Roma is only one that really matters though, suppose Liverpool does for pride purposes

Makes it easier for Liverpool in the hunt for top 4 as I can't see United putting any of the better players out.
Hopefully in the close season they come up with some better punishments for this sort of thing from fans other than meaningless fines. Same with Liverpool repeat attacking coaches and criminal damage. All that stuff goes away with proper points penalties, all clubs have their share of ****s but you can bet they would self police better if it meant a 3 point deduction.

Its like most security, in order to be safe and sure that you are safe, the precautions you have to take are ridiculous and probably not worth the cost. You would have to protect the route from the hotels to the stadium and keep roads closed etc. You would have to to have serious serious security at the gates and not let people near the stadium until the teams were in.
Unless we want this sort of overreaction we just have to accept that occasionally fans with act like complete ***** and should be punished fully when they do. If fans start doing it tactically to get an advantage for their team then you might have to look at it again but all the incidents I can think of are fans venting or just being yobs without a plan.
At what point do they start punishing clubs for issues like this?
After the initial break in fans found another entrance with the door open. This was a planned and public protest...the idea that you wouldnt put in additional security is frankly stupid. This isnt the first time United have had a game postponed due to security issues either.

I would fine the club. The only other option is to dock points but you can't really forfeit games as that gives an unfair advantage to any team they are playing. Imagine if the game was cancelled and 3-0 to Liverpool was put down and that got them CL over another team. That's worth 10s of millions.
I'd expect after they start punishing attacks on opposition teams busses more seriously.
That's a fair point but then Liverpool could argue that 5 games in 15 day of which 3 aways have been squeezed in in 6 days is unfair to them. There's no way a decision could have been made without something being unfair but at the end of the day, as per the laws of the game they all sign up to, forfeiting was an option.
I guess its a question of which is least unfair.
Giving 3 points to a team is probably far more unfair than requiring them to have another game shoehorned in to a packed schedule. Its probably hard to say unless its a case by case basis.

How are they related? One a window was smashed the other was a break in to the stadium, an officer almost losing the sight in his eye after having bottles thrown at him, theft, some more fights with the police and the abandonment of a premier league game. I reckon every club in the premier has had their coach attacked by rival fans, you constantly bringing it up is bizarre.
3 away games in 6 days doesn't help Liverpool. This goes away with the punishment of a forfeit is actually put in place. They have the power to do it but they wont because of Sky etc.

Or, possibly, it's perfectly reasonable to not dock points or forfeit games in this situation and you are the one being unreasonable and letting your tribalism get the better of you...
It does if Manu field an incredibly weak team because the top 4 place is safe. But yeah I get how hard it is for them to work out, if they gave Liverpool 3 points it's not really fair on West ham or another challenger. I'd be happy if they deducted United points but that still doesn't cure the game needing to be played. I have no idea what they do for the best outcome. After all the players don't deserve to lose points based on the fans, how do you hurt the people concerned the most? All the TV money from the game to Liverpool?
One directly affected safety and mental state of players and coaching stuff just before the game, the other postponed a game while players were comfy in their hotel.
It's nothing to do with tribalism.
Course not. It's pure coincidence that your opinion on everything is the same as you would form if you were an utterly one-eyes and rabidly anti-United Liverpool fan.
Eh?AHH so you've been down the 9 odd posts of mine then?
If you wanna explain how this is fair go ahead.
Eh?
Fair? Every season dozens of matches get re-arranged for a myriad of reasons. Sometimes it's not fair, stop bleating about it.
Both teams are disadvantaged in this case. Sometimes you get a situation where one team has had a massive rest and the other hasn't. Sometimes it's annoying. You don't generally get people throwing quite such a tantrum about it though.
