Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 8th February 2023]

SO it doesnt matter whether Pool or ciy are underperforming, Arsenal still had to play against the other 17 teams in the league.

In a generally poor standard at the top where a few of the recent big performers can't find form. Much like when Leicester won it and you all said the same. Man City are playing the Spurs role and will end up 3rd.
That is weird and for city? Come on, give them credit. They are not miles behind arsenal ffs...

They are miles off their own high standards, as are Liverpool. That is the point.

So if city doesnt get 200 points a season, they are crap all of a sudden?

See above.

Reminds me of when arsenal failed to go the following season unbeaten again, everyone said they were **** as well.

Well for some it's disappointing not drawing 12 games and dropping standards to 5 games drawn.

Its mental really and its not as if CIty lost to Leyton Orient last night.... They lost to spurs who dare i say, a decent side you know? And at there ground too....

The point is they keep choking when they have chance when Arsenal drop points. The mentality isn't there this year.

Even with City's huge squad maybe they are also starting to feel fatigued as well? Obviously they haven't had as huge a drop off as Liverpool as their squad is just a lot bigger.

I think it was a massive mistake in letting Zinchenko go as well as Sterling. Sterling averaged 20 goals in the past 3 seasons compared to Grealish who has been terrible and Zinchenko is a player that I would liken to a Denis Irwin who will always give you 8/10 week in week out, score a goal, good at set pieces etc.

What a time to be alive though. I got so used to watching United dominating the league for decades that it almost became boring. Now it is extremely fun to watch as you really do not know what is going to happen. Premier League has surpassed Champions League now as the top competition in Europe imo.

City are doing fine, they are still 2nd in the league. As a team they still have the majority of the possession and they can still score a goal. I think the difference this year is they miss that something from the left, it used to be Sterling or Foden. Both can score double digits in goals and Grealish is NOT that player, but Pep keep playing him, like hoping he gets better. I doubt he will, he would much rather go down in front of an open goal instead of stumbling a bit and poke in the ball. Everytime he goes down the opponent has time to regroup and close the spaces.

Classic Premier League.

I am going to take a leaf out of Infantinos playbook later this evening. "Today I am a person who lives in a country with access to the United game".

Any reason why Utd are playing tonight but Liverpool can't play one of the two postponed games they still have to fit in. Chelsea and Wolves haven't got anything on this week

Dunno, next game is monday as well for L'pool?
Utd game not on tv either which is a pain, lets see how Skubala gets on, 6 points off Leeds and we are contenders.

I was just about to post this. What an absolute joke.

Pathetic.
Just got home and sat down to put the game on.

The PL is a ****** joke. Sell the rights to DAZN for peanuts or something.....all they're doing to forcing people to find alternative means of watching the games.
