Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 8th February 2023]

Not a fool at all, Rodri gets there just before Lloris who wipes him out. If that’s any other player or anywhere else on the pitch it’s a foul. Stop talking out of your arse.
I think Hugo got more of the ball than Rodri did. VAR would have awarded a penalty if Hugo didn’t get the ball and wiped him out, so they must have agreed.

No, because it’s seemingly perfectly acceptable for a keeper to wipe someone out. Happens all the time.

What do city fans make of Grealish? Apart from drawing fouls he does not seem to create very much. Was today a bad game?

That’s Grealish a nutshell, he seems more looking for a foul than wanting to go past people. He has the talent to beat any defender and if he is even grazed by his finger nail he goes down, when it might be a lot more advantageous to his team if he stayed on his feet and go past the guy he has now beaten.

It seems in his mind getting fouled and going down is No1 thing to do, sure you can if you are fouled but any slightest touch he will. If I’m the exact same scenario, and it’s Messi instead, Messi would ride the same tackle and go past the guy. Grealish hits the deck. It’s infuriating at times watching him play because you know he could have gone past that challenge and be on his way.

(I’m not a City fan but when he plays for England I’m of the same opinion)

Grealish is the king of the foul.

Hair everywhere, legs and arms everywhere. He makes sure everyone knows he wants the foul.

This game City deserved sod all. Pointless talking about beating Arsenal twice they aren’t beating many teams playing like that.

tactically spot on for Spurs, top 4 back in the mix

Newcastle need to watch out because you cannot keep drawing games.

A draw twice would be perfect result tbh. Would spice it up no end.

He should be suspended for it. It's taken forever for concussion subs to be introduced and rules around head injuries because of the fear that they'll be abused just like that.
I think if you go down holding your head like he did you should be removed from the pitch for a minimum of 1 minute, it would stop it in a day, and yes I’m aware Newcastle have used those tactics this season

I've said this before but I'd make it 10 minutes. It's becoming a tactic.

There's absolutely no chance that players will be forced off the pitch for a prolonged period due to a head injury. They're trying to improve things re head injuries and concussions and you want to introduce a rule that will encourage players to not go down and receive treatment?

If a player has obviously feigned injury then punish them retrospectively. There's nothing you can do in-game.

This will sound like a knee-jerk to the red card but I was thinking it earlier in the game, Romero is one of the most overrated defenders in the league for me.

Was pretty shocked looking at the table just now, Spurs have conceded more than 30 goals this season, even Everton in the relegation zone haven't let in that many.

United still only have a +8 goal difference or something like that.

I think Arsenal will have a bit of a wobble but Man City don't look right, so they may not catch them.

Liverpool have surprised me, genuinely woeful despite still having a fairly decent squad and great manager. If this continues I'm not sure Klopp will hang on, will also depend on the ownership situation too.

Annoyed Casemiro is suspended now. :(
