Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 9th July 2020]

The problem is the way VAR is being used. The VAR isn't being asked to check if the correct decision is being made but whether you can understand why the ref made the decision, which is barking mad.

Pretty much the whole of the VAR implementation seems to be wrong which begs the question why bother with it? when it was brought in people thought it would be the end of blatantly wrong decisions and that's not been the case so why is it here? the VAR team are so rigid in following clearly flawed rules and unable to use any common sense that it's creating bat **** crazy outcomes.

Jon Moss is one of the worst refs imo. Hopefully he’s nearing retirement age.
He should have been sacked 2 seasons ago when he was caught trying to get VAR's help (when it was only being tested in the background) and ended up guessing to give Spurs a penalty at Anfield.

I’m surprised he passes the fitness tests tbh. Always looks to be blowing out of his ass after 10 minutes.

They hide behind this whole "The ref saw it and its close to what happened but not quite but we'll take it anyway even though its wrong" line they come out with. Just give the correct decision. If the ref is wrong...hes wrong.

Its almost like football is a game of grey areas and not everyone agrees on any decision that isn't horrendously obvious. Bringing technology in to try and make subjective decisions suddenly objective was never going to work perfectly.

We were playing really well until we got cheated by the ref for that penalty. Totally killed it.

This Greenwood can't half hit a ball.

Tbf today's penalty was the sort of decision that technology was supposed to correct. Not even the most loyal Utd fan is arguing that was a penalty.

Greenwood is just one of those players that seems to barely try and he just smashes goals in.

I haven't seen it yet but Robbo seemed to think it was a penalty.

Greenwoods the player United fans think Rashford is.

*runs away

United fan - Rashford has been overated for some time. He's been in the first team five years now, look at the equivalent development of real world talent, you know when someone's going to make it into something special. Rashford won't, neither will Martial IMO

People say what will happen to Greenwood when Sancho comes but I think it is Rashford who needs to be looking back but to be fair he has been out for 6 months and form does come and go unless you are Messi and Ronaldo.

Yep 100%. Greenwood would be through the middle for me BUT i guess theres an argument of "Well hes doing fine on the right so why move him?"

Yes it was soft, but they were just starting to play after a slower start. Greenwood is devastation. Very exciting
