Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11th - 14th August 2023]

Can you explain why you don't believe that it was a penalty?
I think he genuinely went for the ball, didn't reach it and collided with the Wolves player. The goalie is the only one who is allowed to do go for the ball like that and as part of that you will get collisions. You don't often see those given - normally its the keeper that gets the foul!!!

You think Onana should have got the foul!

The general consensus is that Onana was lucky, but here's the official justification...

Its a **** decision. Its not corruption. United had a lot of awful decisions against us last season like every team. Its incompetence, not corruption.

Indeed, it's funny to see the usual suspects crawling out of the woodwork to throw around corruption allegations. Total nonsense.

There are controversial refereeing/VAR incidents in almost every game.

It's whether the player is impeded, i can see how the officials haven't given it. The wolves guy wasn't impeded, i want defenders to be able to challenge and block shots, even if they catch the man after, comes down to the force i suppose. But it's the inconsistency which is annoying, goalies are heavily protected, any touch and its a foul... but not the other way round? Probably should be a pen but can understand the officials hesitant to give it also.

The Leeds one last season was acknowledged by the PL as an incorrect call - its a pen all day long.

No its not corruption but it is a v poor decision. Rash "challenges" like that have to be punished.
