Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 21st August 2023]

He wasn't timewasting he was waiting for someone to get into space. Regardless it wasn't even a foul.
The whole team pretty much was timewasting, with their fannying about with the goal kicks and then the throw in, he was simply unfortunate that he was the one holding the ball when the ref decided enough was enough. If teams , and I mean ALL teams, didnt waste so much time over recent years they wouldnt be in this boat

Such a soft yellow, referees this season have been shocking.

Stupid to get one for time-wasting with the new rules.

You have to hate the state of the game where if you brush the hairs on someone's leg or arm and they are hitting the deck. Joke really.

Those players asking for a yellow waving their arms about should also be in the book.

Sometimes as a thrower there is literally nothing on. Most of the yellows I've seen for timewasting haven't even been at a point when you'd timewaste anyway.

First game of the season Mac Allister booked for waving a card at ref, at least 2 Arsenal players do it now and nothing, just no consistency with these refs bar being really crap.

But then the question becomes how long do you wait for there to be something on, as the commentator said at the time that throw took 23 seconds, no throw in should be taking almost half a minute

If youre going to be enforcing these rules then enforce them and book Partey for asking for a yellow. Its always half arsed with the PL.
Eze did it too and nothing.

Yet Arteta did it at the Community Shield and it was a booking. They are never consistent and that's the biggest issue.

He wasn't stood with the ball in his hands for 23 seconds. If a team is taking the **** in general then yes book him but not for that sort of situation.

I don’t understand refs, if someone waves a yellow card it’s a booking. Cut and dry, no debate, yet they don’t do it. They’re all clowns.

He wasnt, but at the end of the day it took the team 23 seconds to make the throw and whichever way you cut it, thats unnecessary.
