Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 3rd September 2023]

Ok, and so far he's not really done a lot wrong, people are just relentlessly focused on his every move.

He's better than De Gea, especially on the ball. His other stats are fairly similar.
From what I saw from him at inter and the goals youve conceded far he's not an upgrade on de gea in anyway apart from he can play a simple 20 yard pass. hell, his positioning is atrocious for the 3rd most expensive keeper ever for a start. But he shouted at maguire so he's great yeah

Nervy stuff! Fine lines today and happy to not be in cope/seethe/dilate mode after the final whistle. So much work to be done as a team but that crazy run from last season was never likely to happen again regardless so if it’s going to be battling out results and getting a slice of good fortune to win games till it all clicks, I’ll take it.

Onana hasn't really put a foot wrong so far, only "mistake" he made was slipping over for the first Forest goal which is pretty harsh. None of the other goals he'd be expected to save. Before this game he had a post shot xG of 4.5 against him and he's conceded 4. He's doing fine.

So you were happy with the Forest player running half the pitch and your keeper didn't even leave the 6 yard box to close him down, then falling on his arse.

Serves us right for wearing a Newcastle shirt. Nothing good comes out of wearing that. Retire it

In all seriousness, not all that disappointed with the performance. Thought arsenal would dominate and they didn’t.
Promising start for Hojlund as well, looks a real menace

He slipped over, are you seriously complaining about a player slipping? There were mistakes from both Rashford and AWB in the build up to that which were far worse.

Come on, he slipped because he got in a pickle, your keeper needs to be closing the player, reducing the angle down, not rooted to the 6 yard box line looking like he doesn't know what to do. It was comedy gold moment. Jelly writs today for the 2nd today like I said, stick some boots on his hands and he will be a superstar.

The second was deflected at close range. Have you ever watched football before? No keeper is expected to get that.
