Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th Nov - 1st Dec 2024]

Liverpool good value for the win but it should have been more!
For sure.
City don't look like scoring. Will this be 4 losses on the bounce in the league?
Liverpool solid but I think they will have tougher games than this. Can't knock it, all their players are working hard and they don't look like conceding many goals. Only 8 so far in the league. Strangely United have 2nd equal best defence :)

1/3rd the way through the season and sitting 4th, I'll take it.

If only we didn't drop points against Wolves, Southampton and Ipswich. BAH.

Kelleher has to go this summer, much too good to be a no.2. Hope he gets the move he deserves
Hate to say it, but given Ali's age and injury record I'd rather keep Kelleher and let Ali go. I love Ali (and he's the captain of Handsome FC), but he's getting on and we'll be losing a top "young" keeper for a guy with only a season or two left

I'd still take Allison over Kelleher, but you cant have two no.1s and Kelleher deserves the 1 somewhere.

11 points between Liverpool and City. An impossible task for City to claw that back and i can't see Arsenal doing a City type run..
Newcastle fans will be able to tell you that lead at this stage isn't impossible to catch. They lost a 12 point lead in 95/96 season to Manchester United.

Even though he'll be 33 early next season, missed over a quarter of last (PL) season injured, and has already missed 7 this season?

It's so hard to replace a keeper when a great leaves. You can buy a top keeper from elsewhere and they can be awful. We already know that Kelleher can do the job, knows the club, and is a very good keeper. Why risk it?

On the plus side though, no team in the history of the league has ever failed to win the league from a position of being on 34pts after 12 games
