Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 3rd December 2023]

Far too soon to be called world class imo, but at 21 and not being phased with Rashfords pace or negating his attacking shift was impressive, he was unlucky against PSG.

Ok ok ok I will change my stance on world class.

He has all the tools and potential to become the greatest fullback to ever grace the game :D

He’s moved up on my Tommy tank ranking system to a 9!!

The players just aren’t playing for Ten Hag. Looks like they want him out. If you don’t match the work rate of premier league teams these days then you are in for a rough night, particularly against a side like Newcastle in their own backyard who are incredibly hard to beat. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Effort from players is the very least that is expected from them and there were far too many of them tonight that just didn’t put a shift in. Not only that there was a clear lack of discipline in the middle of the park with huge gaps everywhere. None of the players seemed to know where the others were, contrast that with Newcastle who always have a team mate within ten yards and players don’t even need to look up to make a pass.
Funny that the keeper, Maguire and Shaw who are much maligned, highly criticised and often the scapegoats for defeats did their very best to keep the scoreline respectable. I don’t think M an utd fans could complain if it finished 4-0.

So whats the thinking on Hojlund? Hasnt scored a goal yet in the Premier League, just bad luck, not yet up to speed with the Premier League but it will come, not good enough, formation/style of play doesnt suit him or has the skills but just needs the experience now?
