There isn't a law that I'm aware of that says stop play if the GK is down to be fair. Its dirty tho...dont like it myself. Radio said the ref blew his whistle so...God knows

He was moving the whistle towards his mouth, but didn't blow it.

All just very unfortunate really, annoying as it is. Plenty of time left at least.

I think people are overreacting on both sides of this. The right decision was made but if they had disallowed that we wouldn't have seen that turn into a legitimate tactic to prevent a goal. The fact it was such a bizarre situation points to how rare it is.

Correct decision. Bad luck. Lots of the game to play still.

The ref was going to blow then saw the ball getting striked. His instinct just like any human was to watch the strike so he pulled it away. He was almost like a deer in headlights.

Why was the ref raising his whistle then? Because if a GK is injured you stop play. We're literally 1-0 down because we've got **** refs.
Is there anything in the rules that says you stop play if a keeper is injured? Had the ball been 50 yards from goal then I imagine the ref would have stopped play but you can't just stop play in the middle of an attack if it's not a serious injury or a foul.
