Yes I've read it, the point was thatThat's not the point though, the point is the manager as a singular variable i.
e the squad stays the same. That quality Chelsea squad was the same squad that were 9th under Lampard to then suddenly making top 4 with Tuchel and winning the Champions League.
Read what you quoted. He said a manager can elevate a team to another level, he didn't say the United squad is as good as Chelsea or Rangnick will take us to the PL or CL title, just that it's possible for a manager to take a team to another level. I don't disagree with you that our squad isn't as good as Chelsea's, but I do think it's good enough to be challenging for the final top 4 spot and certainly better than 7th place we're currently in.
Your squad isn't "really good", it's average. As I said 6 months isnt enough time to implement a manager's ideas, I think he will struggle to translate what he wants onto the pitch given what's at his disposal and the timeframes involved. You can't have 9/10 of your outfield players buy into 'gegenpressing', it's all or nothing (talking about Ronaldo) so will he use him as an impact sub? He likes a high defensive line yet you have players in key positions that aren't suited to this (De Gea/Maguire), let alone the pogba conundrum.Chelsea is a prime example of where a manager has elevated the performance of a really good squad to another level.
What happened to the 'utd way'? Rangnicks style isn't anything close to this. What about the next manager?
At the start of the season the man u fans and pundits were talking as if it was a title winning team, now it's a team that should be challenging for 4th place.
