Again, doesn't get anywhere near enough credit but what a performance from Hendo. Salah will always get the plaudits but this team doesn't purr without Henderson in midfield.

yep, it’s been the same for years now, our form drops quite remarkably when he isn’t in the team.

edit: lol Amazon put up Mane as MoTM instead of Salah

Definitely Jordan 'sideways' Henderson has kept us pushing forwards all the time

No but Jota would've been in on goal with Coleman behind him playing catch up again
Henderson did have a period of time where he did it far too often for my liking but has improved massively year on year.

He did but he played no different to Fabinho as the deepest midfielder. Win the ball back, pass it on, job done. A bit further forward and he's able to play with a bit more adventure.

Edit: Rafa looks done. Loved what he did for us but don't really have any sympathy for him.

Ten minutes either side of HT aside, that was a very good performance from us and the midfield 3 were outstanding. I think I read a stat saying that was just the 4th or 5th time those 3 have started together since Thiago signed - fingers crossed we can keep them all fit for a while because it's such a balanced midfield.

Hendo MOTM, Salah's a god and how good a signing has Jota been? He just scores almost every game and the goal today was stunning. He doesn't link our game and bring others into play like Firmino but his penalty box play is first class.

Do you follow Simon brundish on twitter? Has some interesting stats but I like this one:

"8 games when Thiago has played in the same team as Jota

8 wins 3.4 goals per game"

Just 8 games together. Crazy.

Thought Villa played really well tonight. Came on second half more positive and genuinely could have come away with a point.

Reaction in the ground to Grealish was more positive then I expected and glad he had the balls to do a circuit after. Even blew a kiss the Holte end which was a lovely gesture.

:cry: he blocked me too. Sensitive soul.
I replied to his constant "Klopp needs to start Sturridge" tweets with, "doesn't Sturridge need to be fit first?". He's not the only one from Anfield Index that's blocked me either - the guy that does the football finance stuff didn't like me pointing out that he has no idea about finance.

Class goal by Maupay

89th minute, I was gutted, but it was a blinding goal by Maupay, I told my grandson that this game had 1-1 or 2-2 written all over it, but I was nervous of it being 0-1, in the death I was happy to settle for for 1-1.
I just hope that West Ham can stay in the top four, but if we don’t I can’t argue about our performances this season.
