Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 6th January 2025]

Yes and no. Under ETH we turned up in some big games (7-0 at Anfield anyone?) but usually struggled and scored on the break.

Under Amorim we try and at least control games, even if we aren't the better side. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't.
I also think in some of those previous ‘big’ results it was often really due to a bit of individual genius rather than a great team performance. Today seemed more of an overall solid, cohesive team performance. A defeat today would have been a bitter pill given the performance but I’d not have been overly upset had we lost - as long as that sort of performance starts showing up on a regular basis we’ll move in the right direction.

Just read tht trent didnt win a single duel in the 86 minutes he was on the pitch - given how Slot rates the importance of that, Im amazed he wasnt hauled of earlier.

Nunez should’ve seen red (rarely given unless you actually do elbow but shouldn’t be required)

Still can’t get over Trent’s lack of effort in this fixture, for all the **** Robbo has got he’s never put in that effort

Can’t believe the result. Manu you have been stuffed more than the Christmas Turkey over the past few weeks. All Liverpool had to do was turn the oven on.

Having both Ugarte and Fernandes back in the team helped massively. Plus Amorim had a week with the players so some actual training could happen.

This isn't the same as when you played us even though Liverpool were poor.

Adam... you've been hyperbolically brutal on the lack of impact of Amorim and what a mistake it's been and yet now you're dishing this out as a 'oh look what happens when he's given chance'...

You'd make an excellent kite... a slight breeze and you're off in the other direction.

I always like to work myself up for the worst so then I don't feel as bad when we lose.

Reverse psychology and all that. :p

Most likely next week we go back to the same old rubbish but I am trying to justify and dream that we might have turned a corner :p.

That handball is a joke. Its a penalty all day.

I would tend to agree at first glance though I think his arm was just about close enough to his body for that element of doubt to save him.

Doyle (no. 20) for Wolves has been poor since the start.

With the chances Wolves have had this game should be at least level.
