Maybe the weather played apart but it was like a cup game between a PL team and a potential giant killer.
Yeah, you regularly see League 2 sides pushing Liverpool around at Anfield

Me too. More players played to the level required and at the level they are capable of. Much better an you hope it gives them some belief that if they put the work in then they will get rewarded. Ugarte key, Mainoo improving. Dalot more effective ( vs Trent). Everyone contributed so it felt like a team performance. I'm not happy with a couple of them but lets leave it at that and not sour what was a good performance and an acceptable result. Well done lads. NOW BACK IT UP.I was happy with that performance, Ugarte, Fernandes, Martinez, Mainoo and Amad were particularly impressive. In fact, I felt Dalot had a decent game too.
I'm surprised we scored two considering how uncreative we've been for a while now. Although I think Liverpool helped us out defensively today.
You know what I mean, it was more like a cup match than a league with one team expected to win easy. Bit like Northampton in the league cup.Yeah, you regularly see League 2 sides pushing Liverpool around at Anfield
I think this is bang on. United were better than they've been for a long time, and Liverpool weren't quite at it. Part of that is because United's midfield were good, part of it a because Liverpool weren't great - United's midfield being good doesn't absolve Trent, for example.I was happy with that performance, Ugarte, Fernandes, Martinez, Mainoo and Amad were particularly impressive. He was shocking. Often I think he deserves a bit of leeway - he will get caught up the pitch sometimes because he's such an attacking full back, and that's on the manager for choosing him over a more regular full back.A one legged donkey would have beaten Trent today
How do you get never outplayed from my post? Utd played better, it was their cup final so treated it like one. Liverpool played their worst game of the season, did Utd cause it? maybe in some parts but mostly down to the right side of Liverpool being hopeless.Liverpool are never outplayed, if they don’t win it’s because they played poorly. It’s never the opposition playing well.

I'm glad Bruno mentioned the Southampton game, this sort of performance means nothing if we look crap again. Reasons to be hopeful though...
Maybe you didn't see it well. Which part of this is backing into him? He runs straight at him, looking at him not the ball and then smashes him in the face with his shoulderPlayers back in all the time. Nunez went at it overly hard, but if you start penalising that then Salah gets sent off 5 times a season
Yes it always is, form goes out the window. Just felt more like a proper cup game todayThe cup final comment works both ways though in this fixture. It's normally difficult regardless of form.
Probably a red if he went in elbow first but given how lenient Oliver was all match, a red would've been very harsh.Maybe you didn't see it well. Which part of this is backing into him? He runs straight at him, looking at him not the ball and then smashes him in the face with his shoulder
