Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8th - 10th March 2025]

Congrats Liverpool. Arsenal well short again.

Pretty poor game but we could have quite easily won by a few goals. Not sure how!

I thought Heaven played well when he came on, looks promising.

Surely questions need to be asked whether Arteta can deliver for Arsenal? Hundreds of millions spent and 3 years on the trot the bridesmaid. Liverpool signed no one in the summer and had a new manager come in, City have fallen off a cliff. This was the season to for them to do it.

I think he'll get next season, with a striker, but that's about it.

Stick why risk someone else could be worse ? Still think they are missing a striker

He's done a pretty good job - they look comfortably the second best team in the league and everyone knows the problem they have. Managers don't get seriously questioned with the sort of form Arsenal have shown consistently over the last three seasons. He's more than earned the right to another transfer window, decent backing and a good run at all comps next year.

Im sure slot and liverpool would have coped great with the likes of gakpo/salah/jota out for a long period

Arteta has done good for arsenal over all no one can dispute that but part of this seasons down fall is there own making

Such as not getting a striker, earlier getting Havertz which didn’t really help them with what was needed etc

Okay, so where do Arsenal go from here?

Perenilan "good" team with no silverware for as long as I can remember.

They are in a better place than Man U, but we should have won that game in a canter (different discussion).

Do Arsneal hold onto to Lego head, or do you think with not winning anything for ages, they will look to bring someone else in?

lol we lost Jota plenty of times like most seasons he doesn’t last the season difference is he still scores at a better rate then arsenals back up players do.

Gakpo also been injured, only Salah has stayed injury free.

Arsenal issues you have nothing from your other attackers or midfielders on a regular basis, it’s not shared around team

Yes we have Salah who post unreal numbers but we have multiple players who still chip in. Arsenal don’t and that is on arteta not injuries Arsenal keep making excuses for

Arsenal always seem to have injury excuses, it'll be the same next season when £160m Isak is out for 3 months. :p

Arteta is not under threat not even 1%

I am sure he isn't but just like Poch at Spurs I cannot see him getting the job done at the top level.

He has showed zero winning capability in the cups or Europe in recent seasons. Mentally coming second all the time will take its toll on the players.

Liverpool and City have gone deep in all comps in recent seasons whereas Arsenal normally drop out early and still cannot win the league.

Its only Mo who has more minutes in the PL than Saka, the likes of Diaz, Gakpo and Jota have similar to Havertez,Martinelli and Jesus.

Gakpo and Jota have missed time and maybe Slot just managed his forwards better and hasn't run them into the ground

Merson yesterday was saying Liverpool need to win against Saints or Arsenal could be on their tails again. 24 hours later he's banging on about Man City catching Arsenal.
