Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8th - 10th March 2025]

I am sure he isn't but just like Poch at Spurs I cannot see him getting the job done at the top level.

He has showed zero winning capability in the cups or Europe in recent seasons. Mentally coming second all the time will take its toll on the players.

Liverpool and City have gone deep in all comps in recent seasons whereas Arsenal normally drop out early and still cannot win the league.
Who so you suggest would do better

Arsenal just in denial that its poor management re arteta on running players into ground like Saka and a poor medical team that isn’t handling players correctly.

Same issues arise with arsenal and have each season under arteta

Plus you know not getting a striker when it’s been clear as day for every one bar Arsenal one is needed

Merson yesterday was saying Liverpool need to win against Saints or Arsenal could be on their tails again. 24 hours later he's banging on about Man City catching Arsenal.

It’s almost as if things change as the season progresses. Arsenal have had loads of chances to put the pressure on Liverpool this season but just haven’t been good enough.

Again re getting a striker who could we of easily got in thats guaranteed to work in the prem?

The only one i know of is isak and newcastle will want too much

Toney is a problem re attitude he was never going to work

Oshimen chased the money

Who else is there? Strikers who bang in 20 plus goals just aren't readily available.

No one is garunteed to work. There are attackers out their

It’s not like this is first season it’s been said Arsenal needed an attacking player so unless your scouts are crap the club would or could have find players by now

its irrelevant, you lot were have always been 2nd best this season. before you started to pick up any injuries you were a 800million pound stoke reincarnation. Maybe you'll be better next season..

i was talking about all 3 of them being out at the SAME time not spread out over a season
Jota and Gakpo have been out at the same time

Try again, injuries are a poor excuse that you’re using as are other Arsenal fans acting as if we haven’t suffered any

Are injuries gonna become reason why you didn’t won’t league before as well ?

I'm hoping they're going to regret letting Obi go and he's a 20+.

Can't see the point in starting Hojlund ahead of him.

Not sure why Amorim was apologising for playing the low block today (I guess this is what I meant by he should try something different).

It wasn't pretty but it nearly worked, against a team that were scoring for fun in their last match.

I'm with Roy on this one, he should employ the tactic more often, as and when required. Surely everyone would rather win like this (in the short term) rather than lose or draw against other teams.

Sure, once he gets his players and squad then he can play how he wants but until then (years away?) he should not be afraid to repeat what he did today. SAF played on the counter also didn't he, and towards the end (when Scholes (autocorrected to Achilles, lol) left) the performances weren't great were they?

We're miles away from peak United so it's time to knuckle down and grind out wins, else I'm not sure he'll be in a job in 18 months time, surely if he finishes 14th next season they'll boot him out?

Surely questions need to be asked whether Arteta can deliver for Arsenal? Hundreds of millions spent and 3 years on the trot the bridesmaid. Liverpool signed no one in the summer and had a new manager come in, City have fallen off a cliff. This was the season to for them to do it.
Bridesmaid

Can't believe we didn't beat Arsenal today. Had plenty of chances to put it to bed. A better forward than Hojlund and we would have comfortably won that.

The so called lesser teams also play low block, it only works against teams that want to break you down and hold possession

We are a lesser team. What do the lesser teams do against other lesser teams?

Edit - I suppose they score goals, something we can't seem to do
