Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 10th December 2023]

Fair play to Villa, this season is turning out to be the best ever so far , so competitive between the top 4, not one team dominating

Decisions aside there was a large chunk of the game where Villa were there for the taking and there was real failure to capitalise, so really only got themselves to blame in the end. Felt like one of those games where you could play all weekend playing and you’d never find the back of the net, oh well. Bounced back quickly after the Newcastle loss so hopefully same again this time although it feels like the league is still a couple of players away (maybe 1 when Timber is back but deffo need a goal machine up top).

“Brighton are the first team to score and conceded in 20 consecutive top-flight matches since Newcastle United between December 1957 and August 1958 (21).”

Not sure how much I can take. I’m glad we’ve resolved the not being able to score but flipping heck.

Ofcourse he did, he's a coward. Perfect captain material.
The saddest part of it, for me as a UTD fan, is that there’s actually a very talented and capable player there when he’s not being a gutless, petulant, crying man-child.

I know they were different players from a different generation but I wonder what the likes of a Keane, Gerard or Viera make of him. Captains that would have given their left nut for their respective teams. I sometimes like to imagine Fernandes in midfield beside Keane and wonder how many games they’d have played together before Keane had battered him.

Captain my arse.

I actually don’t think the hand ball rule is stupid. It clear and easy to follow and an improvement on last year.

Villa shouldn’t really be surprising? They have a fantastic squad, rich owners have a massive wage bill and an utterly fantastic manager. Sounds like an extremely well run and ambitious club.

The question that should be asked is.

Just how **** is Stevie G!!! Is he in the Steve Bruce league of ****? It’s actually looking like he is. They look like. They might pull off a Newcastle.

I am sorry but Steve Bruce was a good quality Championship level manager. Slippy G isn't even that.
