This has been a really dull first half. Neither side has been very good for long enough and both teams are defending well enough to snuff out the average attacking they are facing.

Go with a back four and take Blind or Mata off for Herrera

Mata hasn't looked particularly great but personally I would get rid of Blind and get Hererra on asap. He gives us a bit more movement towards oppositions goals.

I agree with Sky, with Southampton's two dm's there isn't really enough space for Mata, let alone Rooney and Mata

Putting another (fit) player in midfield should hopefully overload that area and start creating gaps for Utd to utilize

Better from United but that's not saying much given the first half..

Rooney in mf is a stupid decision. Has a good game against relegation fodder and starts being compared to Scholes. Come against a decent team and his poor touch becomes a issue

Why can't we just play with a proper formation as we have Blind and Carrick.

Because Southampton are doing a great job defending and stopping united using the strengths. Sadly united are not playing great but even on form I think they would struggle to beat this defense atm. Just matter of time before Southampton players get tired and mistakes may happen.
