Can somebody explain how what LVG has done can be considered anything more than decent, with the amount spent in the summer and the the fact that United are only in the top 4 because Everton, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal have been poor this season? If it stays this way United will be on the same number of points as they were this time last year. Not to mention they were fairly fortunate to get the points they did around the end of November and through December.

Injuries will be the excuse which is wheeled out.

Obviously they have been unlucky with injuries, but I do think it's crazy how much leniency they've been given because of them.

Why wouldn't that be a huge part of it. The sides at the top of the table have the most consistent first XIs in the league for the most part. Getting most of our players back from injury for a single game isn't going to magically make them all play brilliantly and coherently.
