Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [10th - 11th January 2015]

Super Six was won again this week.... By 55 people!

Imagine getting every score right and celebrating winning 250k then finding out you have to share it with 54 other people!

Incredible honesty from Poyet. The interviewer tried to give him something to complain about with the red card but he responded by saying both challenges were yellows.

Pretty poor from the BBC there. The part of the interview they showed put Poyet's comments completely out of context because he was comparing their red with Coutinho blocking the ball twice which he thought should've also ended up with a red. Not so much honesty as being complete ****** off with the lack of consistency shown by the ref.

I always wonder with crosses like that - is Sanchez actually aiming to hit Koscielny's head, ie. are players good enough to put the ball at the right height and account for the 2 yards run that he will make, or do they just put the ball in a good spot and hope that their target gets there?

Educate me OcUK.

It's one of those things you see forwards do occasionally when a defender's shielding the ball. It didn't look like a huge fall and he didn't seem to collide with the advertising - can only think Debuchy done his shoulder in when he landed.

Popped a shoulder?

I do wonder sometimes if players injure themselves by going down like a ton of bricks at the slightest contact. That wasn't exactly a particularly meaty shove and he went down very dramatically.

It can only be put into an area. You can't predict exactly where the runner is going to run and at what speed etc.

If the player is standing unmarked in open space then maybe then you can just aim to hit him.

Think you're being harsh on him there. It wasn't a massive shove but it was off balance and didn't see it coming.

Agree on the shoulder though, the fact that he wasn't prepared for it is probably why he landed funny and caused it.

It wasn't really an accusation but more a general observation that players quite often don't steady themselves if a challenge is coming in so that they go down easily and get a free kick.

Its a risky thing to do and I would wager that plenty of players have been injured that way.
