Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [10th - 14th Feb 2012]

I CBA quoting your usual Essay post DM but most of us have said we were poor today. We did nothing we let UTD do what they wanted so was no surprise we lost.

Downing id give back to Villa and take the loss he is totally useless how he won any award is beyond me.

No its not Illegal for Evra to celebrate or even go to Suarez face as you put it but no one is debating that were saying its causing trouble something he is VERY good at.

Pienaar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Liverpool looked fairly sound defensively apart from two huge **** ups but never threatened going forward and had serious trouble with the quality of their passing at times.
That's been our problem all season. With Lucas in front of the back four and Reina in goal I'd argue we've got one of the best defensive units in the Premiership, maybe the best, but everything in front of those 6 players :o

United were the better team and deserved their win.

I'm comfortable with Suarez not shaking Evra's hand, I to wouldn't shake someones hand if I felt that I hadn't done anything wrong.

No complaints about the celebration at the end until it became a blatant attempt to get a reaction from Suarez.

I like the fact that Suarez got a goal. Dopey Ferdinand gifted him the goal the clown.

I don't know who is to blame for that goal tbh. Think Rio thought Evans was going to get to it but then he just completely mistimed his jump :o

As to people claimaing Evra shouldn't have celebrated the way he did get a grip. He's captain of the winning team in one of, if not the, biggest rivalry in football and he is not supposed to run over and celebrate with the home fans? Neville has done the same in the past, Gerrard has and I expect any future captains to do the same.

wtf

You can just tell the press are really upset that something more controversial didn't happen. They will re-run the hand-shake, Evra celebration every half hour with dramatic tones and headlines, because thats all they have
They must be so dissapointed that something major didn't kick off.

Old news is old. Nothing really controversial happens in the modern game, so therefore the media has to make little things seem significant. You don't see the proper rivalries that we had when Keane and Viera were around because everybody is too scared to get in to each others faces and tackle hard due to fear of being sent off...

I love OcUK after these big games, all the keyboard warriors and armchair managers come out to defend their teams to the death. Both sides acted childishly about the issue, but I think the blame stems back to the F.A.

If they had forced Anton Ferdinand and Terry to shake hands when they played a few weeks ago, then the standards would have been set and everybody would have shaken hands today. Sadly the F.A are too scared to try and impose their power and bring respect back to the "beautiful" game.

It was fairly toothless from both teams. However I have to give it MAN UTD today, they were faster, moved more and tried more things to get the goals.

Liverpool were so dull. It was as if they wanted a goal from no where and were going to shut up shop until that time.

Well done for Manure refusing to be drawn into cost and mouse and actually going for the win.

Susrez is loathsome. The victim mentality that pervades Liverpool equally so. I'm glad Evra tried to wind Suarez up he deserves all the **** he gets. Horrible horrible person to see on the football pitch.

I don't know who is to blame for that goal tbh. Think Rio thought Evans was going to get to it but then he just completely mistimed his jump :o

It's harsh to blame it on Rio, Evans went for the header and missed it, Rio had very little time to react. Suarez was lucky it fell for him.
