Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11 - 14th May 2013]

We set the bar at 18, United raised the bar to 20... who's next?

Chelsea?
City?
Spurs? :o
I don't know whether any of those sides are currently in shape to form a dynasty like Liverpool and United have.

City have the financial muscle if they ever get a decent manager but think they'll be the same as Chelsea firing managers like there's no tomorrow unless they win something every year so won't have the consistancy.

United will be at 25 before any of them make it to 10 imo let alone 20!

Halsey was absolutely atrocious at the Fulham-Liverpool game. How we didn't get a penalty and a possible red card for Coates(?) I don't know. Thank christ we're safe and it's ridiculous to have to say that .

Next season could be a turning point. Moyes will want to stamp his own authority on the side and will no doubt make a few changes and introduce different ways of thinking. If he doesn't start well the pressure could be on and a season or two without the title and it suddenly allows your competitors to close the gap and overtake you.

Certainly going to be the most interesting season for a long time next year with the big three all going through the same thing to an extent.

United wasn't really a dynasty, just Ferguson

a lot harder to create a dynasty than it is to continue it......

There is this possibility of course, but I really don't expect major changes to the 1st team.

Rarely has the club bought more than 3 1st team players in the same window

I think the last time was when Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves were all bought 6 years ago I think.

(Last summer was 4 players, but Buttner and Powell can hardly be described as 1st XI just yet)

By the sounds of it Moyes may well try and bring some back room staff with him (which is pretty standard)

Didn't look like he had a good game at all for you. Thought it was a definite penalty on Lucas but would like to see the Coates tackle again. Only had Tony Gales' commentary to go by though and he previously said you had the best right back in the league and appeared a tad biased :p

I mean Liverpool were the better team and Schwarzer was bloody busy, but Halsey just didn't give us a thing. It's one of the worst seasons we've had for quite a few, but luck just wasn't with us today. Have to say we'd be done and dusted and on our way to the Championship if we didn't beat Spurs and Schwarzer saving penalties this season. Unbelievable.

Sturridge is a **** though, his reason after 1st goal, no wonder he got crap for the rest of the game...he had the last laugh(s) though :(
