Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11th - 16th September 2015]

Could Wes Hoolahan be one of the finest players to have played in the prem for several years and never once finish in the top 10?

The man is an absolute genius, how he spent so much of his career playing low league football I'll never know.

Motson sounds like he's losing it a bit. A lot of yelling OHHHHH because he can't seem to find the words to use.

And he's still better than ITV and BT Sport combined.

I don't know if it happened, but I'll take a punt on Matthew le Tissier. I know he was brilliance or trash, but I'd have loved to have seen what he could have done had he moved to a top club.

Id love to see Mata in behind Martial for a game with young and depay on the wings.

Would be interesting with that sort of pace up top!

hmm no foul given for the elbow in the Arsenal Stoke game.

Wonder if there will be retrospective action...

Meh it's just payback for the times Stoke tried to kill one of our players ie Adams last year when he tried to take Sanchez's head off with his arm.

Good win for us though, finally scored a couple of goals but looking at how how many chances we had...that game should have been dead and buried by HT really. Some horrendous wasting from us, both Walcott and le donkey should hang their heads in shame. But I didn't expect any better, we get plenty of chances to score but we just keep missing them. This is why we need someone a lot more clinical in front of goal. I admire Wenger for keeping faith in le donkey but come on, the guy misses the most easiest of chances but somehow manages to nail the more difficult ones lol.

Ozil's assist for the first goal was tremendously sublime tho  think he's now got to grips with the PL and is starting to pay back the 42mill we spent on him.

props to the work experience kid

i've just seen benteke's goal and it's fantastic

was it just the clip i saw or was there a slightly underwhelming reaction from his fellow team mates?

They'd basically resigned themselves to having lost by that point I think, hence the subdued reaction, it was a good goal but ultimately little more than a consolation

Aye Benteke's goal is something special, pretty much a perfect overhead kick. Martial's goal had a bit of luck to it, but he took the shot fantastically well. Up till then though the ball bobbled off defenders and his own feet/shin a few times.

i get that but i just thought that because of the goal, that should have gone out of the window. it was out of this world.
