Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 17th August 2016]

Well after thinking about it I'm quite confident that we can beat arsenal today as there defence is out so besides sanchez and car zola who could cause us problems,it's probably our best time to face you, mane has been in form in pre season as has origi for little he has played. Grujic I don't think will start though

Bournemouth

Artur Boruc; Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook, Charlie Daniels; Jordon Ibe, Harry Arter, Andrew Surman, Lewis Cook, Joshua King; Callum Wilson

Substitutes: Adam Federici, Nathan Ake, Brad Smith, Dan Gosling, Max Gradel, Benik Afobe, Lewis Grabban

Manchester United

David de Gea; Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw; Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial; Zlatan Ibrahimović

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford

Just.....yuckkkk

Herrera as the holding midfielder? (only because I wouldnt trust Fellaini to do that job, he would just foul everyone)

Fellaini and Valencia start, Mkhi on the bench again. What the actual ****. Is Mourinho an idiot? Lingard dropped completely :/

Lingard was injured in training according to rumours (or exagerated the same injury from last weekend)

Otherwise I agree

Is he trying a 4-3 - 3 (initially was thinking 4-2-3-1) but its just as misleading and not sure Mata would be the right choice as part of a deeper laying 3 either

Oh fair enough, still doesn't excuse Fellaini again starting. I mean how bad does he have to play? He literally gave them a goal last week. I really hope that isn't Mata on the wing again, we're just repeating the same mistakes again and again with different managers.

so do you want Herrera or Rooney on the wing from that lineup (as it wont be Fellaini) :(:)

He might have Fellaini in the shop window.

Mkhitaryan will be a starter, so I'm sure there's a logical reason he's not starting at the moment.

Rooney on the wing and Mata in the centre would be better than the other way round, at least one of them could be useful then.

So you want Utd to be completely obliterated down Utd's right all afternoon with Valencia behind Rooney....hmmm

Its a marginal call admittedly but Rooney can do less damage to Utd in the centre imo

I mean surely the best way of selling Fellaini is not playing him, otherwise it's just showing teams how bad he is. Not to mention how ******* stupid it would be to jeopardise the team by starting a player you don't want.

way to push up his price, by actually using him and then its a negotiating tactic?

Would have left him in Manchester myself, but the above kind of makes sense

Hey, check this guy out! He can't play a forward pass but if you want someone to play a perfect through ball for the opposition striker then he's your man. We want another £20m. Yep, seems legit.

I've a friend of a friend, who knows a guy who knows what's going on.

The plan is to play Failaini until United fans all donate £1 each.

Overnight, £100m is donated, and Pogba starts.

:p
