Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13 - 17th April 2013]

I wonder if anyone truly thinks Pardew should still be in the job come August. Nobody has forgotten what he did last season and I'm all for giving a manager time, but from 5th to relegation candidates with this squad is inexcusable. Injuries haven't helped but they're not the sole cause to the abortion that this season has been. Shame though, I enjoy the stability.

All I want is a team with some fight, we're missing a leader.

Krul is out for the rest of the season. Dislocated shoulder.

Wow.

:(

Utd fail to utilise either wing having created next to no chances via either of them. Through the middle not exactly working either.

Mishmash of a game where we are playing Stoke back in and differing little outside the well drilled beaten path we wander.

What an absolutely turgid game of football, right up there with some of those Villa games earlier in the season :o

Why can't we just play well? :(

"Di Canio's Sunderland thrash Newcastle" - why is it BBC sports journalism is absolute tosh? This has been going on for about a year now and the crap they come out with just baffles me. Beating a team 3-0 isn't, in my opinion, thrashing. It's a very convincing win yes. But to thrash a team I'd say you need to be winning at least 4 or 5 to nil.

Does anyone else agree with me here?

Admittedly he's been poor the last few weeks but before that he was easily our most important, influential player. Looks very tired now.

I really don't know...

A lot of a good football has come though Marveaux this season.

I really cant see what Cabaye has done all season apart from scoring some good free kicks

it's hard to blame injuries but think there is only 3 player who have managed to play more than 20 games this season

I'm behind Pardew.

I dislike him, I think his tactics are lacking but I think we need some continuity. Now I contrast that with the fact we sell players so often we will never get continuity anyway.

Cashley has a plan to make money, that's all that matters to him. We will NEVER be a big club again as long as he is here, but at the same time we will never be a big club anyway so we may as well be solvent.

I will settle for survival every year if we give the cups a real go, let Cashley have his money and give us at least a slight chance at glory, I think a lot of fans need to side up and realise we will never be a decent club again, ever

Biggest thing is survival now though, and that is Cashleys fault because he didn't invest when he should have.

Also, anyone defending Cabaye. Have a word, he's been a clown for at least 8 weeks. He is gone in the summer, I really believe the deal is done and he's just seeing his time out so he can move on and doesn't give a toss. I just wish he had the decency to try :(

They were away from home so you could argue it was a thrashing :p

Its the combination of tactics, formation and players. We have no shape. No defined method of attack. Wingers who can't wing it etc. Of course we will look bad in these situations.
