Yep you're right it's rampant throughout football and often they are given simply due to there being any contact, I don't agree with it though when the striker is clearly looking for it (Rooney a while back springs to mind) and I'm glad to see the referee was not conned today.

I understand why Barton was so angry because it's cheating in my book and when you've worked hard for 80mins it must be heartbreaking to concede a penalty from play-acting, that doesn't excuse his actions of dragging Gervinho up off the floor though.

I don't condone Barton's reaction to the 'slap' but Gervinho dived twice and Song gets his stamp on, yet all the focus is still on Joey? Weak.

I didn't say for picking him up, but yes you aren't supposed to put your hands on the other player, but yes he dived, and you can get a yellow(and maybe a red) for unsportsman like conduct), the incident as a whole was hands on another player, unsportsman like conduct, diving, generally being violent, and having a really really ridiculous haircut, so thats like, 17 yellow cards altogether, hence he should have gone.

Also most people have said Song will get a ban from tv footage after the fact, so how is no one mentioning it? Who didn't mention Gervinho's an idiot?

Though it's no great shock Arsenal trying to cheat a win because there team is useless (a fact which most arsenal fans have acknowledged as well I'm not just tossing dirt)

Gervinho should have gone.
Song should have gone.
Barton, meh, I could see it going both ways. With his rep I am surpassed he didn't go.

Ultimately both teams were garbage. Watching I think Newcastle will have enough to stay up as we look good enough to beat the poorer teams, won't be easy though. Unless Arsenal get some players in I will be surprised if they get in this years CL never mind the top 4.

Overran looks good, Cabaye showed flashes, Ba looked unfit. We still need another striker and a LB though.

All in all I'll take a point against a "top" team, derby next week :D:D:D
 
Wasn't a red card, definite penalty though.

Noticed Suarez waving an imaginary card :rolleyes: thought we were rid of that in the EPL.

Great equaliser by Larsson! Overall was impressed by Liverpool despite not winning. Good first team depends how they squad hold up.

Just watching MOTD. With regards to the Suarez penalty incident, i thought the refereeing was top class. He gave a penalty, but gave Richardson the benefit of the doubt and only a yellow card, as it could have just been an accidental tangle. Good decision imo.

I've got Suarez in my Fantasy football team. He is just so obviously going to score goals this season.

They are right about Brown as a transfer, signing of the season! And that Pen was a pen but wasn't a red card, well done to the ref!

No wonder their play is so disjointed they must have spent all pre season in the pool.

Song has to be banned as well, surely players are not so stupid to think they can get away with it.

Every time I see that dive it gets worse :rolleyes: Barton overreacted but fact was he was struck in the face. That IS a red card. Rubbish game though.

Wenger - "I don't understand the red card" about Gervinho. About Song stamping "nothing happened" loooooooooool Wenger. I'm glad to see his vision is still 20/20 :rolleyes: he is such a prat I wonder if he will sit down one day and shake his head at his own idiocy.

**** off Wenger!! Just said "there was an incident between him and the 4th official but nothing happened anyway." What a blind misguided **** he is! Wenger has officially lost it!

Barton and Song should have gone at least, not sure about Gervinho tbh.
