Poor performance by us today, pretty much a mirror image to the way we performed at the Hawthornes last season, strange because passing wise I can't remember Anderson or Cleverley giving the ball away once yet second half especially it seemed like they were all over us. On the plus side though unlike all the other title challengers we did come out with the 3 points despite the poor performance
Concerned about De Gea though, 2 games and 2 mistakes, from a keeper who by all accounts showed plenty of promise at Atletico. What's confusing is that the mistakes aren't ones that you'd expect from a young keeper adapting to the premiership but pretty basic shot stopping ones :/
Oh and why every season do we have a period when all of our defenders are injured? Rafa out for 10 weeks, Rio maybe out for 6 weeks, Vidic a couple maybe? Just as well we've invested heavily in the likes of Smalling and Jones who will be relied upon heavily now.
I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable with them if our upcoming games weren't Spurs, Arsenal, Bolton, Chelsea & Stoke
The worrying thing about De Gea is that his confidence looks shot to pieces and that's the exact same problem the likes of Tim Howard and Ben Foster had when they starting making mistakes. What made VDS so brilliant was not only were his errors few and far between when he did make them he was confident enough to just shrug them off (maybe being 20 years De Gea's senior helped with that).
