Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 16th April 2012]

He had the face on obviously, but it looked more like he went to shake his hand and Caldwell took his hand away and then had a go at him?

 not other did he didn't he offer his hand debate, I cant handle another one after the Suarez one :p

Wait, so Wigan play Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal (3 games away from home) and only loose out on all 12 points due to some god awful refereeing. They've certainly deserved all 12.

Should Wigan bother playing the fixtures before Xmas next season...

:p He certainly wasn't willing, but that's to be expected! But for him, I'd say that was well behaved.

Anyway, Congrats Wigan - If you played like the last few weeks all season I think you'd actually be above mid table.

Those two goals came out of nowhere, but well done Wigan for taking them. There was a ten minute period straight after that where I thought Arsenal looked fantastic (best I've seen them this season, ironically), but unfortunately it didn't last. After that Wigan were completely organised and held us off brilliantly.

No coincidence that we looked half the team we've been recently when Arteta went off. Hope it's not serious.

****ing bunch of timewasters wigan are but well played! they played far better then city at the emirates.

you would have thought its wigan not city aiming for the title the way they bloody played

Pretty much third team we've played in form in this "run", and we've lost all 3, and Wigan took their goals great but sat back and asked us to score, it wasn't massively Wigan who won but us who failed to do anything. Not taking anything away from them, Di Santo was fantastic, epic workrate, won so many headers, held the ball up, great cool finish(exactly the opposite of Moses who decided to shoot from miles out when he only had to do the same thing).

We were rubbish, we looked like we didn't know how to attack well, quickly or do the right things. Once again Song tried through ball after throughball, and they were overhit, underhit, easily intercepted, miles wide of the target, etc, etc. Its amazing how when a player makes a lucky run and gets on the end of a bad pass, you think its good, or if the ball ends up in a really poor position but RVP bang in form tucks an almost impossible volley away the passer gets loads of credit.

There were also quite a few "fouls" in there Arsenal got away with, Rosicky early on smashed into someone at their left back position really late, and he "won" a freekick against Figueroa in the same way, ignored the ball and smashed into the player. Song also did a fairly reckless slide in but I think it was Figueroa who hurdled it when he could easily have gone down. Sagna also, on a yellow card doing his best to bring down Moses very very close to the edge of our box, could have ended up a penalty and a second yellow very very easily.

We were poor, honestly we've come up in a very good run against almost always out of form teams, QPR and Wigan were both in form and both beat us, our defence is a joke, we've conceded way more goals than at the same point last year. Walcott was again utterly worthless, Gervinho came on and did nothing, Ox came on, was more direct but ultimately did nothing but I won't particularly blame him. Since his run out while Gervinho was at the ACN, we've barely played AOC lately so can't really expect him to be in great form. Play someone, they are excellent, then arbitrarily drop our most in form player, for woefully out of form players, then barely see them for two months.

Looks like Wigan should live to fight another day in EPL next season...they have beaten us, Utd and should have beaten Chelsea tbf. But kudos to them for their epic defending in the second half...completely and utterly stopped us from scoring another goal...shame Arsenal cant defend like that. I knew we were going to suffer tonight and looks like i was right...good thing i didnt take a win for granted but really we should have smashed them to pieces. Al Habsi was superb in goal for Wigan, pulled off some stunning saves.

But meh, ill say it now...dont think Arsenal have the bottle to snatch 3rd...i think we will struggle to get 4th with Spurs, Newcastle and Chelsea now in biting distance of us...would be absolutely hilarious if we dont even get 4th due to our ineptness of beating lower teams. Tonight was just like QPR, we looked absolutely clueless in the 2nd half with a lot of our attacks amounting to sweet FA really.

Anyhow again credit to Wigan, they seemed like they wanted to win the game whereas we looked like we couldnt be bothered whether we won or not. Some epic defending by Wigan though, hats off to them.

yes mr dm we get it know, we only win when the other teams is play ****(fact) and we lose when a team is in-form.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Jesus i can see why a lot of people laugh at your posts

Sup with RVP? McButthurt!

It's all the more embarrassing as both times RVP was to blame, he shoved Caldwell for no reason, and he shoved Krul as he was going past him to kick the ball out. Both times RVP "started" it and acted like a brat when they didn't like being shoved for no reason.

I love RVP, but occasionally he'll be a complete **** for no reason. If someone shoves you into another player, I can understand it, but when you did the shoving..... then act like the other player has a problem, just daft.

I ignored all the rest because I've read it more than enough times. But this bit made me laugh.. Gervinho came on and did nothing - OK, fair point. But then you say Ox came on, did nothing - BUT you aren't going to blame him?

So how do both players do nothing, but only one of them get's blamed for it? I like how your favouritism works. It's funny.

I'd just like to point out as well, that I think Gervinho is a really poor footballer and AOC is going to be a great footballer for years to come, but I found the hypocrisy funny.

TBF to RVP and im not excusing his behaviour...he just looked so damn fustrated at how Arsenal couldnt build up a nice attack...everytime we did we were stopped but i think a lot of RVPs actions came from pure fustration at our lack of finishing off Wigan.

And Walcott??..this is a muppet who wont sign a contract extension because he wants £80k a week...he did FA tonight and looked like his usual inept self. Far as im concerned i hope Arsenal dont give £80k a week and let him **** off to another team, thats if another team will have him...hes of no great loss to Arsenal.

When DM has players he likes the hyperbole over them is extreme
When DM has players he hates the hyperbole over them is also extreme

He's got no middle ground :p
