Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 16th April 2012]

I ignored all the reason because I've read it more than enough times. But this bit made me laugh.. Gervinho came on and did nothing - OK, fair point. But then you say Ox came on, did nothing - BUT you aren't going to blame him?

So how do both players do nothing, but only one of them get's blamed for it? I like how your favouritism works. It's funny.

I'd just like to point out as well, that I think Gervinho is a really poor footballer and AOC is going to be a great footballer for years to come, but I found the hypocrisy funny.

Where's the hypocrisy? That's right you made it up, I even explained why but you ignored it.

Here it is again just for those who can't read. AOC only came into the team for a few starts in the row, he was out best player in those games by a mile... Wengers reward was to drop him, for a game, no problem, playing him 90 mins every game till he gets injured is asking for trouble but since they we've barely seen him.

Dropping a player for a game and telling him its to protect and rest him is one thing, dropping him for **** players in the same position, then giving him incredibly few minutes for a couple months is a way to tell a player, you aren't good enough and I'm not going to play you ahead of players who have been far worse than you all season (Benny, Gervinho, Ramsey, etc, etc).

AOC came on, he DID MORE THAN GERVINHO, but he hasn't played consistently. The biggest difference between him and Gervinho is, we've seen AOC be decent this season, Gervinho has played far more than AOC and never shown a fraction of his ability, he is simply poor. I won't randomly blame a young player who won't be at his sharpest or particularly match fit, for at least trying and being one of our least bad players. Now, explain what part of that is hypocritical, oh wait, should I also mention that little word you bolded, but ignored, PARTICULARLY.... as in, I blame him LESS than the others, like, Walcott who was on for a lot longer and did less, or Song who had loads of the ball and did nothing?

Title winning form!

I can't believe Wigan seem to do this every season. Certainly won me over given they're current form and Martinez seems a top bloke.

Is it Burton interviewing Wenger? Would love to see Wenger flying headbutt him, then urinate on him.

Tbf the way Spurs have been playing they have a point. :D

We play Chelsea next and I have no doubt it'll be a completely different performance (as the one against City was next to the QPR game), but tonights game had my rageface x100000 on because we've lost what feels like a record number of games this season being just... embarrassing. The team are bi-polar. We either play well and win or play **** and lose. There doesn't seem to be much in between, which is reflected in the table by W 20 D 4 L 10.

It's a good thing everyone else has been inconsistent.

Gary Neville's team of the Year;

---------------Hart---------------
Walker--Kompany--Coloccini--Baines
Valencia--Y.Toure--Silva--Dempsey
------------RVP----Rooney------------

In your face Tummy :p

Why? Ex Manchester United player picking Rooney over Manchester Cities Aguero :p shocker.

Ha, I agree with the reasoning behind a lot of his selections, there were only a few 'certain' picks, Robin for example.

First of all, I made nothing up, you decided to do what you normally do.

Since Gervinho returned from the ACON, Ox has been involved in 8 games, starting 2. Gervinho has been involved in 7, starting 2. So both very similar game time in the last couple of months. So to me that says they are both going to be about the same match fitness.

Also, don't give me this "I won't randomly blame a young player".. You've been blaming Song and Walcott for practically everything wrong at Arsenal for a long time, you have favourites, just like everyone else. Just you like to tell everyone else their views are wrong, and that if they aren't one of your favourites, they are useless. I'll admit I have favourites. I jizz over Harry Maguire and Kevin McDonald at Sheff Utd, AOC and Szczesny at Arsenal and Neymar at Santos - Difference is, I don't **** all the others off for a bad game, and make excuses for my favourites when they have a bad game.

I don't mind that team really - Needs Mata somewhere, but I don't know where :p Also needs a different goalkeeper.

Toure and Rooney for Aguero and Mata for me. and possibly Silva for Parker.

..would also like to fit Heskey in somewhere.

What no ban? :D What did I say before about not writing off Wigan, Arsenal team turned up thinking it was an easy 3 points.

In the words of Bjørge Lillelien

We are the best in the world! We are the best in the world! We have beaten Arsenal 2-1 in football!! It is completely unbelievable, Spawn, Rich L, Moses, Drunken Master, Johnnymendoza, killswitch, Piers Morgan, Alan Davies, Osama Bin Laden, Arsene Wenger can you hear me? Your boys took a hell of a beating!

:D

lol, you get worse and worse. Not blaming a young person.... but I blame Song and Walcott. here's a hint both of those guys have been at Arsenal for 5 years, AOC is 5 years younger and is in his first season, then again did I say I wouldn't blame him because he was young, really, or did I say because Wenger is screwing around with his form, confidence and fitness?

Secondly, I did not ANYWHERE compare Gervinho's match fitness to AOC's, I'm saying Gervinho played most of the first half of the season, he was rubbish, full stop, every game, played identically to how he played tonight and not once looked as good as AOC.

I also didn't say he was blameless, I said I won't particularly blame him, firstly because, he was better than Gervinho, he was better than Walcott, he was better than Song, Ramsey, Santos, Sagna, Djourou.....

Likewise Gervinho, despite playing woefully was a first team shoe in every game he was available before the ACN, that is called a manager backing you. AOC got played ONLY when no one else was fit, and dropped shortly after they were back..... that is called, a manage using you as a last resort, and despite playing better than anyone else in the team being dropped straight away. That is a manager giving you as little backing/confidence as possible and screwing with your form.
