30ish mil, can't remember exactly. He was well worth the money and I'm surprised more players weren't in for him. Utd should have been though I think Mourinho might have been his type of manager(also a **** :p ). I think where he is a better buy than Falcao is, age, longevity and wages. Falcao is already on huge wages where as Costa was at a club with lower wages and you could likely get him for a lower overall cost.

The thing that made it so great was getting Fabregas though, the combination was always going to work brilliantly. Fabregas/Sanchez worked brilliantly, I said when we got Sanchez that had we gotten Fabregas as well it would have made buying Sanchez better, two players who play the same style and will read each others games.

Sanchez isn't making the runs in behind because people aren't picking him out, Fabregas would pick out pass after pass for him to run on to and he'd score loads of them.

I thought when Chelsea bought Fabregas that if they sign any half decent striker they'd win the league, then they went out and got the likely best one available in this transfer window. I thought Chelsea were slim favourites after signing Fabregas and much stronger favourites once they replaced Torres with Costa.

I would kill for a manager that picks out the weakest position(correctly) and fixes it, then moves on to the next weakest position and fixes it, etc, etc... till the squad is epic. Mourinho who I haven't rated in general transfer activity before Chelsea, has done an exceptional job in the transfer market since being back at Chelsea.

Mikel weak, replaced, Lampard moves on and needs a younger replacement, done, need to replace Torres, done.

Haven't been watching the Spurs game today, last game I saw Lamela was great, quite like Wilshere in wanting the ball, driving forwards, going around one or two players by turning players as he picks up the ball but ahead of him like with Arsenal, very little movement. Lamela/Wilshere will do something good open up the field and run in to space but those ahead doing nothing, standing still or getting the ball and slowing down an attack. Eriksen was really poor in the last game, slowing everything down while Lamela looked like the only dynamic player making anything happen.

Same situation?
Yeah. Main culprit is ade not making runs into the channel. It compresses everything.

Edit- Lamela hits the cross bar from super strike, matching dembele's strike from the first half.

Dier is quality and Eriksen is playing much better. Soldado is a much better option to link up and create space than ade though

Mourinho also went out and got a high quality back up... :(

I'd be surprised if Chelsea didn't win the league, so strong all over the team. How Arsenal didn't go out and get Remy by offering first team action I don't know, Wenger has lost his mind at this point.

Nice goal from Remy

Would take a special effort not to win something with this team, already was last year

Yup, the only thing that can really screw them up is Mourinho deciding to go for cheap draws away at teams they can easily beat, Utd/Arsenal draws and the way he played was pretty pathetic. Went defensive against you guys too, right tactically but they won more through luck than quality/tactics.

City were good though and Chelsea were weaker last year, Matic only joined in Jan and they had a few weaknesses to be fixed and the lack of a truly top notch striker.

They waited and got the right players though and now have a just disgusting squad.
