30ish mil, can't remember exactly. He was well worth the money and I'm surprised more players weren't in for him. Utd should have been though I think Mourinho might have been his type of manager(also a ****

). I think where he is a better buy than Falcao is, age, longevity and wages. Falcao is already on huge wages where as Costa was at a club with lower wages and you could likely get him for a lower overall cost.
The thing that made it so great was getting Fabregas though, the combination was always going to work brilliantly. Fabregas/Sanchez worked brilliantly, I said when we got Sanchez that had we gotten Fabregas as well it would have made buying Sanchez better, two players who play the same style and will read each others games.
Sanchez isn't making the runs in behind because people aren't picking him out, Fabregas would pick out pass after pass for him to run on to and he'd score loads of them.
I thought when Chelsea bought Fabregas that if they sign any half decent striker they'd win the league, then they went out and got the likely best one available in this transfer window. I thought Chelsea were slim favourites after signing Fabregas and much stronger favourites once they replaced Torres with Costa.
I would kill for a manager that picks out the weakest position(correctly) and fixes it, then moves on to the next weakest position and fixes it, etc, etc... till the squad is epic. Mourinho who I haven't rated in general transfer activity before Chelsea, has done an exceptional job in the transfer market since being back at Chelsea.
Mikel weak, replaced, Lampard moves on and needs a younger replacement, done, need to replace Torres, done.
