Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 17th September 2014]

So, Monreal randomly running forwards repeatedly when he's no where near the attack, Ramsey not getting back to cover when the danger is on, then not breaking his neck when he does finally react. Flamini at fault as well, Debuchy wasn't killing himself getting back. I like Flamini a lot but that should have been intercepted, at the very least he should have made Aguero fight him hard to get to the ball. Instead he switches off, I think Flamini is good to have as cover and for rotation but starting in big games we need a player on Matic's level.

Ramsey was at fault but Monreal had effectively no reason at all to be forward in that attack, even if he had been there he probably wouldn't have done much. That we were demolished down the wings but the left side in particular all last season against anyone half decent, how we failed to improve there I don't know. Utd have bought three players capable of playing LB, and they sold Evra to make room for them. We had even worse LB's than Utd, less rebuilding to do and got no one in our weakest spot on the pitch. In fact with his stupid buying, pushing Ozil wide and buying Sanchez he's weakened both wings defensively.

getting a top left back in would have done so much more for the team than any signing we've made.

Monreal is a genuine shocker though, so when he does something ridiculous it should be of little surprise.

Do you even watch the game DM or just watch a small section and then spend 10 mins writing a furious wall of text about it and miss everything else inbetween?

I always find this kind of post, funny...

How do you think commentary works, only watch half the game and miss half as they commentate on it. I can type while watching for one thing, aside from the fact that there are loads of stoppages. I didn't miss anything in the first half. I'm typing right now while watching Ozil being played in behind.

I'm not surprised by that, I'm surprised that a supposedly top manager could both pay 8mil for a player no one really rates in spain and continue to play him in the most important games without any attempt to replace the complete and utter donkey. Gibbs is marginally better but still completely awful defensively. He was by a huge margin the worst player on the pitch against Chelsea till Ox got him sent off.

Didn't realise commentators couldn't look and talk at the same time. Thanks for clarifying.

yes, that was kind of my point, I can watch and type about what I'm watching the same way a commentator can talk about what they are watching.

EDIT:- 0-1 at home, Ozil, Sanchez, Ramsey, Welbeck, have done almost nothing, Monreal has been woeful.... changes? nope.
ffs another City mistake leading to a good chance for an attack and Sanchez can't make a simple 10 yard pass, got the angle completely and utterly wrong.

First time I have seen arsenal this season. It's a bit same old story. Wilshere a very frustrating player. He needs to calm down and do the simple things. Ozil doesn't do enough for me. Sanchez does however look lively.

Ozil has been unbelievably bad in this game.

Wilshere has been crap as well, but then that seems to be par for the course these days.

OK if you say so bro.

Well the only decent Arsenal player on the pitch scores but horrendous refereeing, Aguero fouled and City pretty unlucky there in general.

City asking for it, a freekick and they ended up with Navas wide and one player in the box. City in the second half have basically spent zero effort going forwards, they seem to not want to get a second.

They'll turn up the heat and likely win still because Arsenal even with City playing like turd have been awful while City weren't trying.

EDIT:- well there you go, 30 seconds after the goal and City are actually trying to score the second goal now and are pushing forwards in numbers and with ease. :(

Not sure what was with Aguero, he wasn't moving as much, could simply be lacking match fitness, not playing much so far and having to travel further for internationals(actually not sure where they played their games). Would have thought they'd bring on Dzeko to support Aguero.
