Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14 - 15th December 2013]

I'm just glad that my nephew is here and I had to turn on Peppa Pig.

My god, what a dire performance completely devoid of ideas.

0-5 FT

Best performance under Rodgers without a doubt.

Bar Johnson who was a bit erratic at times I can't complain about a single one of our players today, they were superb from start to finish and never stopped looking for more goals.

Was concerned about playing Spurs away from home and even more so about playing Chelsea but I'm confident we can get a result at the Bridge now. Still gonna get our backsides handed to us by City though but 4-6 points from 3 perceived tough games away from home will be excellent.

that fight should have been ended at 70mins, AVB is on a wing and a prayer tonight. Another lost champs league place for spurs, 3 years of failure wont be forgotten

If we can beat Cardiff and get a result at one of the other two it'll have been a fantastic run of tough fixtures, would set us up decently for a run at fourth.

Great to see both Merseyside teams up there. One of the most open Premier Leagues in years and is really getting me back in to watching football.

But one thing is bugging me. Are we a few players away from being a truly amazing side or are we Suarez away from being an average side with a few good players....

Sums up today

I hope Levy does the complete opposite; the performances have been awful, they have not improved at all. Why bother persisting with him?

A team in transition should, hopefully, show signs of improvement. We are becoming worse!

levy looked on the verge of throwing up at the end there. it'll cost a small fortune to sack AVB but we'd absorb it. my main concern is who is there available to make this team work.

i can't get over having 0 shots on target tbh that shows that something clearly isn't working. we could've put a youth squad out and not had as bad a result as this imo.

dembele looked off it and the positive of paulinho now being suspended is he now gets a rest.

The second part

agree but id say countinho was our only real let down today but I'm sure Rodgers will pick him back up. Alberto impressed when he came on but game was won by then anyway

The big problem is that "0 shots on target".
Their goal difference has taken a battering at the hands of Liverpool and Man City.

That Spurs back four is one of the worst any Premiership side will ever put out. Suarez should grab a hat-trick.

Dawson is out of form, Capoue is a CM and Nuaghton is nowhere near Premiership quality. What he is doing anywhere near our first team I've no idea. Walker is dodgy at the best of times.

We will have to score 4 to win this game.
Ok, ok I hold my hands up, I'm just far too optimistic thinking we'd only let 3 in.
If it meant AVB getting the boot I'd take another 6-0, I'm sick of watching how crap we are this season. Embarrassing

Come on Levy, don't let me down :D

Chelsea haven't been that great this season, could easily get a draw there but City will trash Liverpool unless Rodger's has something up his sleeve to leave with a draw.

They've got the height to hurt us at the back, they've got a far stronger midfield as well as a defence capable of stopping Suarez. They're basically our worst nightmare in all areas of the pitch :(
